Beautiful classic plane and paints...lovely surroundings too...!

Nice pics!  It's like I could reach out and touch that rippled aluminum (or whatever the material is)

Excellent, Jan!! I really like the Gibbes Sepik livery, it will give me more opportunity to explore PNG in it.

Btw, only if you like and have time, do you think you also can do this one:

I know that's the one that crashed, but the livery looks really good on the Ju

Sorry Bernd, but no. To be honest, I don't like the paintscheme, and Auntie Ju is a word not allowed to paint the way I do it (2D in photoshop)

I did paint two more though:

Fantastic paints as always!

Hey J.....I'm slowly trying to learn painting in Blender (or at least getting the base painting done and finishing up in Photoshop).   Its a lot to take in for us old guys who've been doing it the 2d way forever, but its pretty fascinating technology IMO. 🙂

Im4geE.png

One thing it excels at is effortlessly painting stripes (and such) across the nose, tail, and any other place where the vertices converge and its a real pain to paint in Photoshop (and across texture maps...LoL).
In the example below....I just set the view in Blender to the x-axis default (side on view), painted the straight line on the fuse, had Symmetry (on the x axis) on so it painted the line on both sides at the same time!....and viola'.....a perfect (well...needs touchup in photoshop) line over a very tricky nose when painted in 2d. 🙂  It takes care of all those little frustrations of getting the line across the nose. Hehe (I think for this skill alone...its worth learning how to do just this part in Blender)

I still have a ton to learn, but I think once we get the hang of this...it will greatly enhance our paints. 🙂

Hi Steve,

yes, I'd like to get started on this too, but I will need a few days to concentrate on this, which I don't have...

So it's still old school for now I fear, and that still gives reasonable results I think:
