January 6, 20224 yr After opting out of the "preview" beta, I updated via MS Store after being prompted to do so in MSFS2020. However, after performing this mandatory update and restarting FS2020 I again am being prompted to update. Have been doing so lots of times now, but keep looping in this "there is a mandatory new update available". How to get out of this issue? Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. At least I now got past this dreaded "new update available" window 🙂 Thanks a lot. I just couldn't imagine having to reinstall the entire shebang again. Would have cost me most of the day. Wishing you good luck. As it wanted to install update from within the sim I noticed it pointed to the wrong location of my install. Luckily I noticed this and pointed it in the right direction. If not for bad luck, we wouldn't have any luck at all 🙂 Seriously, I'm glad that it worked for you, too. All these updates really are exciting, aren't they? Every time a new (unpleasant) surprise. January 6, 20224 yr Mine was stuck on part 64/70 and I had to kill it. Then went to the Official folder and deleted a "part" file. Now downloading 8 GB.. Edit: And the 8 GB download completed successfully. This is a frustrating experience 😬 Edited January 6, 20224 yr by Bert Pieke Bert

It's a real hassle, isn't it? 8 GB is doable, but I saw myself downloading the entire simulator. When I installed it in 2020 it took me about 8 hours. (I installed off DVDs). Keep us posted Bert… not home for a few more hours… hopefully you’ll be updated by then. I’m consistently surprised by how convoluted each update can be… from a company that pushes hundreds of millions of auto-updates annually…. there’s something fishy in Denmark! This is not Microsoft at their best.. The MSFS patching process is crappy, buggy, and unpredictable. The download size and progress indicators are all off and you have no idea if this is going to work. As a user, you are left powerless.. not a good user experience, for sure.
