Live weather is down for an hour everyday , usually around this time. That’s probably why

Welcome back - since you've been gone there is an issue that has come up. Between the hours of 1800-1912 (EST), there is a problem with the weather not cycling through. They're aware of it. If you start your flight after 1800, you wont get the weather for 72 minutes. Take a breath, it'll be ok.

Next update is SU8 which is all bug fixes. It'll be a good thing. Don't be complete doom and gloom.

You are quite correct, it will be an exciting and stress free update with only positive posts in the forum.

Latest weather with REX WeatherForce I had while plane spotting with RealTraffic/PSXT/AIG/LiveATC.  Quite amazing how REX utilizes MSFS weather to produce cloudscapes better than MSFS live weather itself

MSFS weather depiction has improved since the beta went live, but it just can't portray the weather as good as REX - yes, Live Weather can produce spectacular results, but REX is just more consistent with its portrayal.  

So good we have an alternative to Live Weather when it is playing up or non existent.

I like your optimism, however after SU5 & SU7 and the SU7 Patch I do not share it.

When Live Weather is down
I don't frown.😬

I could turn the simulator off
and do some chores

Instead I fire up REX Weather Force

and turn that frown upside down

The choice is often no weather at all or sometimes clouds that are just wrong or at the wrong altitude.  The picture I posted above can't be produced by the live weather engine.

I default to Live Weather because I too would prefer no transitions, but its great to have REX Weather for those times Live weather is just plain horrid.
