I too am seeing 50% and upwards in some cases. Phenomenal increase in frame rate here. I generally went from 22fps in cities to well over 30. I can now fly around nyc with most sliders maxed or at 3/4 and still get low to mid 20's with smooth non-stuttery flight. The biggest difference i see however is the speed at which the sim now loads. I swear it loads like 3x faster somehow. I keep looking for decreases in quality in textures or something to explain how they did this but I'll be danged if I can see any. Still much more testing to do to see if everything else still works but so far WOW!________________________________________________________________________________________________Intel D975XBX2 'Bad Axe 2' | Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 @ 3.20Ghz | 2 GB Super Talent DDR2 800 | Big Typhoon VX | eVGA 8800GTS @ 565/900 | Seagate 2x320GB SATA RAID-0 | OCZ GameXStream 700W | Creative X-Fi | Silverstone TJ-09BW | Matrox Triplehead Setup

=) =) WOW =) =)I really cant beleive the improvments, its like a whole new game for me. before SP1 i couldnt have on any AutoGen and had to keep the scenery complexity to med, now both are maxed.....wow.Clouds look sooo much better especially the low lvl clouds that used to come in and out along the mountains and hillsides. I really dont understand how it was done but i really dont care atm lol. I am sooo.. rambling i cant even spell straight hehe.Thank you so much to ACES for following through and giving all of us FlightFans something to gawk about.Jason.Amd x2 4400+Nvidia 7950gt2gb gen ramWD SATA 250gbblah blah

Hello all , ACES !!Dam....THANKS a lot ACESYou guys did a fantastic workI get a mutch and i mean a MUTCH better performanceeven on my OLD non dual core rig..........Shure not all maxed out , that isn`t needed at all.But here FSX has found a lucky user more now....regardsMario G

I have not installed SP1 yet, but: I got a 1680x1050 Widescreeen LCD. When I set "Wide Aspect Ratio=TRUE" in SFX.cfg, I got heavy stuttering and had to go back to FALSE.

Thank you Aces and Phil Taylor for SP1! I have had an amazing improvement, from around 17fps to better than 25 in most places, and this with all the reduced autogen reverted to the original, and autogen increased from sparse to normal. Also AA in the menu works well now!Amazing - smooth experience and able to increase autogen and still boost framerates, I'm a very happy customer! Kudos and congratulations to the Aces team, this service pack has done wonders, far exceeded my expectations.Over Philadelphia with most settings maxed or near max and Mytraffic X at 30%, GA at 10%, GA-traffic add-on at 40%, cars etc... at 30%, getting 25 locked at 25 flying around the city and buildings with normal autogen. Around the airport about 14-18.Prior to the update it was 7-12 around the city and 5-10 around the airport with sparse autogen. Big difference, the city is now flyable. PANC Alaska with same settings as above I was getting 14-18 at the airport, now 18-25, 30-40 flying around the city.I did have a CTD last night caused by the weather.dll when flying over Philly (Panc was fine), the only thing I can think off was it was a saved flight from Nov 06. I didn't do a fresh install and only uninstalled TreesX and have a bunch of other add-ons. Clean FSX.cfg though. One thing I noticed and has been mentioned above is the texture bandwidth setting. Keeping it at 40 seems to help reduce stutters, yet the terrain seems very crisp at this setting whilst prior to the update the terrain would pop in and morph etc... that second core is really helpful in processing the terrain textures.More testing is needed but so far so good.Forgot to add this is on a dell xps410 core2duo 6600 2.4ghz, 7900gs, 4gb ram, smartclose, vista.Ian.

I am not at home, so, I had to use a machine at the office. It's a poor p4@3GHz, with ONLY 1GB RAM and an ATI FireGl v3100 128MB graphics card.I was never able to set * any * traffic, but here I am between Lisbon and Cascais, with the beautiful and now correctly displayed Tagus River in the background, with up to 22fps (and that was my hard limit in the hardware settings, so, it could probably get higher!!!)So far I am really impressed! Thank you FSX Team!!!!It's a BIG THUMBS UP here!

This thread is for general feedback regarding improvements and performance on SP1.Any issues or technical problems concerning the patch should go in the other thread I'm about to make."I'm going back to FS9" or "Vista Sucks" is not considered valid feedback for this thread.Thank you

After 30 minutes of testing, I can conclude that this SP scores 10/10 on the awesome scale!I'm essentially getting twice the framerate. Flying around Seattle with max autogen I would get 8-12 FPS before. Now I get 20 - 25! I'm actually flying with Autogen at extremely dense now and it's perfectly playable. There are some hickups as new autogen is filled in, which can probably only be sovled by adding more RAM and/or getting a dualcore CPU, but other than that, perfectly playable. Also, anything above Low 2.x for the water slider kills my framerate, but that can be forgiven as reflective water requires everything to be rendered twice. Finally, I would like to direct some criticism to Microsoft, and especially to those responsible for publishing. Clearly, FSX was rushed out the door before it was ready. Aces knew it wasn't ready. A service pack that doubles framerate is a clear indication that something was very wrong with the release version. The fact that entire liveries are missing from some default planes is further proof of this. But again, thanks to the Aces team for cleaning up the mess.My system: Athlon64 3500+, X800XT 256MB, 1 GB RAM, M-Audio Delta1010LT, Samsung 500GB drive

Well, apart from a 50 - 100% increase in frames for me, the best part of SP1 was the disappearance of the out of memory error (well for me at least).I had one leg of my "Around the World - 05" flight where I could not get beyond 45 - 55 minutes into the flight even after three attempts. With SP1, I have sailed past the choke point with a pretty reasonable margin of safety.Cheers,Chris Porter:-outtaPerthWestern AustraliaIntel Core 2 Duo E6700ASUS P5N32-E SLI Deluxe Motherboard4GB Corsair VS DDR2 667Mhz RAMInno3D 8800 GTX 768MB GDDR3 590MHz VideoASUS MW221u 21" Wide Screen LCD2 x 320Gb WD SATA DrivesCreative X-Fi Platinum Sound Lian Li PC-B20B Aluminium Black CaseMS Vista Ultimate OEMCH FlightSim Yoke USBCH Pro Pedals USBTrackIR 4 Pro and Track ClipMSFS FSX Deluxe Edition Full install at 1400x960x32Check out my 5th Around the World flight with MS FSX at http://members.iinet.com.au/~portercbp/fly...W_05/index.html

First let me say that I have an older AMD XP system so the performance fix was not that important to me. I will build a new system this summer and will enjoy SP1 then. I was more interested in the content fixes. Here is a list of some items I reported to MS and my findings:ALT-TAB hanging: FIXEDTotal Fuel Capacity reading 0 on Fuel Setting Page: NOT FIXEDB737 Taxi Light does not work: NOT FIXEDB737 Logo Light does not work: NOT FIXEDKA350 Taxi Light does not work: NOT FIXEDA321 EFIS, when clicking on VORD changes writing to CSTR: NOT FIXEDAirport Rotating Beacon disappears and re-appears at 10 miles from airport. NOT FIXEDNEW ISSUES (for me)B737 Landing Light works backwards. Switch ON, lights are OFF.Can not remove aircraft wing views (45 and 90 degree) when in 2d mode. In 2d mode, front instrument panel is removed but quarter and side engine/wing views still show. Will report the rest shortly. If you find these are are fixed, please let me know.Regards,SD

I'm getting excellent performance post SP1 on my laptop.Specs: Intel Core 2 Duo T5500, 2GB RAM, GeForce 7600 Go, Vista Home Premium.Settings:AI Traffic 20 percent (that's plenty with Traffic 2005 installed)Scenery 1mtexture, 19m mesh, medium range, water low 2.x, everything else on full with no autogen (i think it's ugly).I'm getting between 40-60 fps over the centre of Denver. If I put autogen on full I still get around 30 fps in the same location.Colour me impressed.

Ouch. Still no ground scenery shadows. Also, what is the point of setting texture resolution to 7cm?

I can confirm these:>> B737 Taxi Light does not work: NOT FIXED>> B737 Logo Light does not work: NOT FIXED>> B737 Landing Light works backwards. Switch ON, lights are OFF.Also Goose landing lights still moves the wrong way when turning.I guess the focus of the SP was performance (which is good) and not the aircraft (which is bad). I like the boeing 737-800!-Kinetic
