February 24, 20224 yr After the less-than-optimum release of EGLL, here is the next major airport, Rome Fiumicino LIRF by MK Studios. It's available via ORBX Central https://orbxdirect.com/product/mkstudios-lirf-msfs and SimMarket. While I think MK Studios is a proven developer, I'm a bit hesitant after the EGLL release. February 24, 20224 yr I think MK Studios make good airports but this one seems a little flat in appearance. Ryzen 9800X3D, RTX 5090, 64GB, Win 11. MSFS2020. Moza, MFG, Fulcrum & Virpil controllers. Quest 3 for VR.

But for me , Rome is one of the 'must have' European airports. Money well spent and happy to support MK Studios Edited February 24, 20224 yr by ErichB

I just mean the buildings look a bit lifeless i.e. sterile boxes with not much depth due to the lack of transparent windows etc. Probably less of an issue in sim when things are moving but noticeable in the images. Should be good for performance though. Ryzen 9800X3D, RTX 5090, 64GB, Win 11. MSFS2020. Moza, MFG, Fulcrum & Virpil controllers. Quest 3 for VR.

This is the problem I have right now, average developers making subpar versions of the most in demand airports. We’ve seen it today with EGLL an all. All it does is discourage the top end developers to now not bother atleast for some years. I’m someone that would rather wait for quality and not just purchase it because of the location that we want. The only way they will learn is if we don’t jump in with our wallets. February 24, 20224 yr Mk Studio is a value on, you can go that’s not what makes it better but their scenes are always well optimized. February 24, 20224 yr Normally I would think MK is a decent developer, but these buildings and the tarmac look like they have never been used..... A pity.... Menno i7-11700, 16GB, 1 TB SSD, 2 TB HDD, RTX 3070, Windows 11, MSFS 2020 DeLuxe, P3D 4.5

Although I understand the point (and agree to some extent), I have yet to hear confirmed reports of the scenery being 'sub-par' in this instance. I am not prepared to wait for 1 or 2 years more for Rome. I will pay a 'reasonable' amount for an airport I would probably use frequently. £15 is about as much as I would want to pay, but I don't think it is unreasonable. 'Value' means different things to different people for different reasons. Edited February 24, 20224 yr by ErichB

This may be right, but given the speed, say, FB releases their (indeed excellent) products the remaining projected lifetime of MSFS may see just ~6 more major airports from them. Not sure if this would include LIRF even if no one else made it. Probably it comes down to a mix of high-end products like NZAA and those a bit lower, but still good, to fill the gaps within an acceptable time frame. Unfortunately, EGLL seems to be have failed that mark. February 24, 20224 yr Author Still waiting for a report by someone who actually bought Fiumicino ... Or by Mr. Filbert. February 24, 20224 yr I got it. It's pretty good. Worth the buy, I'd say. It's not a FT or FB quality, but pretty nice. They only modelled the satellite terminal with the interior. I think IRL the main terminals may be too dark for a full modelled interior. Jeff D.
