Here comes the next major MSFS hub: Toronto Pearson CYYZ

It seems as though their own web store is the cheapest place to get it at 18.95$. Anybody know how the airport is delivered? Is it a standalone installer or does it connect through Contrail, like FlightBeam and LatinVFR?

Downloading now. From what I understand about Contrail, once you buy from dev, the developer should be able to provide a code that you can use on Contrail. I'm downloading from their site and it's downloading very fast.

Update: Even though the download is a little more than 3GB, the extracted folder was over 13GB.

Thanks for your input, sounds like it’s a standalone file then. I try to consolidate designers at certain platforms so as to not have too many disparate systems all required at the same time. But I kind of want to save that 1$ 😝

curious to hear your thoughts on this scenery! Would love to have it to pair it recently purchased Halifax. And flights to KORD.

13GB? That is big no?

Be prepared to lower your settings and you better have a lot of vRAM.

It's remarkable that this thing loads on my i7 2600K & Titan Pascal, but it does and performs better than I expected with lots of AI. If you have a good video card withlots of vRAM and the SSD space, I highly recommend it or you can wait to see if FlyTampa releases their version. I'll explore it more tomorrow.

They mentioned in Discord that they'll be doing more optimization over time. Both performance, and size.

It looks better in those screen shots than it does in their own promo video.

I'll wait and see but I sure would like to have a YYZ in my sim. Hurry up FT!

Intel Core i9-10900K at 5.2GHz, Corsair H115i PRO, ASUS MAXIMUS XII HERO Z490, G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series 32GB (4 x 8GB) 15-16-16-36, ASUS TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 3090, SAMSUNG 970 EVO PLUS M.2 2280 1TB x 3, Corsair HX Series HX1000 Watt PSU, Pimax Crystal LIght.

It is in need of optimization, it is markedly the least performing airport scenery I have installed. However, performance was adequate to taxi, take off and return and first impression I am pleased with the work that has been done, they even got the underground passageway modeled. Really happy to have a decent rendition of the airport. I will also wait for Fly Tampa, but they will have to have a substantially better offering for me to purchase it.

MSFS 2024. Primary Planes: Black Square TBM850, Duke, Baron, Caravan; A2A Comanche; FSReborn Phenom; Fexix A321; PMDG 737-7, 777: Utilities: Active Sky (Passive Mode); BATC, FSLTL.

Sounds like the prudent move is to wait for some optimization, and maybe see what FT brings to the table. Too bad. 😔

Yes, the performance hit for me is pretty hard. It could be my system -- although I have several dozen pay ware airports and have not experienced this anywhere else -- or it could be the dreaded gravity well of Toronto in P3D continues in MSFS, or it could be that they are new developers and are learning about optimization. They made a pretty big jump from Guelph and Burlington to a major hub like Pearson. I am going to look at Fly Tampa when it comes out for sure, but I do not regret this purchase. They have done a decent rendition and I am happy to support them, a local team that I hope will keep developing Canadian airports.

On my dinosaur of a system, I found that my FPS atcually hovered around the 30FPS I set, and all was well - and then the audio did 'bzzzz' and MSFS got stuck... I'll try this again sometime, but the first impression was both good and bad. Good in that if this will work, it will perform quite well for me, and bad because, well, the sim crashed 😅

But I'll be honest: FT's CYYZ in P3D ran quite badly for me. So I'm not too sure how it will fare in MSFS... I think Regdesign released a remarkably good-looking scenery actually, and don't think I'll be quick to get FT unless people are saying that the performance is incredible.
