May 19, 200719 yr It seems like textures are being loaded in the first place but not being updated. However, I don't understand why textures need to be updated if I'm still in the same area and they are already loaded/displayed correctly... I tried all tweaks to no avail. I know my machine is mid-range (will wait for dx10 prices to settle down) but I think I should be able to run it smoothly without autogen. I will roll back to RTM FSX until the cure is found, as I don't have much time for tweaks and would rather be flying than tweaking. May 19, 200719 yr There are countless threads on various forums on the subject. I'm no rocket scientist but I think that should send up a red flag. Believe me, it is wide spread. If there was a poll made on the subject, I guarantee the number of people with blurries would far outweigh the people without.
May 19, 200719 yr "(...) Post a couple of pictures for us (...)"I'll make some, later this weekend. In the meantime there's one attached that I made yesterday. It doesn't show much scenery, but still enough to see that it's quite sharp.Cheers!Jaap.

May 19, 200719 yr Everyone irrespective of computer or OS will get those blurries even after you have tweaked yourself to heaven. Simple as that. Some will get it sooner, some will get it later and yet some will get it after they change views or place or aircraft. Fly continously for reasonable amount of time and you'll get it. Thats the way this software is after SP1.

May 19, 200719 yr "(...) you will always have a certain form of blur... (...)"Sure, and on account of the screen picture consisting of individual dots AKA pixels, the view will ALWAYS be granulated if you look close enough.Andr
May 19, 200719 yr Yes that is true, I understand, but there are so many different hardware/driver combinations...Some users with older hardware don't have blurries, then we see users with E6600's and higher having problems....I have no idea...Mine is weird, because turning on or off autogen doesn't make a dang difference for blurries - the tiles don't load faster with autogen off or vice versa...Not to mention locking my FPS yields a 5 or more FPS drop compared to unlimited. Say I can set unlimited and it will hit 30FPS 95% of the time. Well, if I lock it at 30, I'll only see 22-25 FPS....strange..In windowed mode, hah, full screen is a different animal....I get HUGE fluctuations in FPS in full screen!DANG IT, I just want to enjoy some FSimming!!!All I do is tweak is to get a decent smooth FPS experience....ARGH! | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
May 19, 200719 yr >Fly continously for reasonable amount of time and you'll get [the blurries].What do you consider to be a reasonable amount of time? I've just completed an hour long flight in real-time and was changing views throughout. No blurries. The terrain textures remained sharp and clear for the duration of the flight.

May 19, 200719 yr Hi Yarp,You can always get rid of the blurries like I'm doing. I'm having a plastic eye lens fitted next week (cataract problem). John.PS I always get the blurries after a few VBs as well ;-) John Rig: Gigabyte B550 AORUS Master Motherboard, AMD Ryzen 7 3800XT CPU, 32GB DDR4 Ram, Gigabyte RTX 2070 Super Graphics, Samsung Odyssey wide view display (5120 x 1440 pixels) with VSYNC on.
May 19, 200719 yr I guess that most users without the blurries are off enjoying FSX and SP1. Its only those with problems that reach out on the forum. Well, gentlemen (and ladies), I hate to say this but common sense should prevail. We are all running the same code (I hope) but in different machines. As many users don't have the blurries then it must be the machine/software setup causing the issue. So where do the Microsoft's development team responsibilites end, after they have visited your home and tailored your PC and software setup to work with their software? Keep in mind that they are a software development team not a team of computer performance analystsThese problems will be solved by cooperation, contribution and self help. I doubt that there will be a magic wand fothcoming.JohnPS I don't have the blurries (I don't know why), I'm just having a break from enjoying FSX.
