Is Anyone NOT getting blurries with SP-1?

Featured Replies

If this thread is short, or non-existent, we'll probably know the answer many suspect. Seriously, with SP-1, if your textures are loading promptly without blurriness... please let us know your rig specs and/or what you have done to improve or elliminate the problem. I have to go work; I hope there is some good news when I get back. Thanks, Steve

I have no blurries, neither before nor after SP1.My rig consists of:Intel DP965LT Lemont DDR2/1394 motherboard;Intel Core2Duo E6600 2.40G 4MB processor;Kingston 2x1GB CL4 DDR2 800 memory;GeForce 8600GTS 256MB PCI-E graphics card;Samsung Int. HD 500GB SATA-II hard disc;FSP Epsilon 700 Watt Quiet power supply.I did do nothing to improve or eliminate the problem, because I had no "blurries problem" to begin with. I guess I'm one of the lucky guys, at least when it comes to flight simming (grin)! On the other hand: none of my GoFlight stuff works with FSX... That's the story of my life: things either work immediately, or they never work at all. Be well!Jaap Verduijn.

Specs below...Minimal if any blurries. I have to slew 30 miles FAST to blur.In flight, no blurries whatsoever - the sim keeps up fine. Even with a simulated 400kt flight (Cessna @100kt at x4 time compress), the sim kept up.Here's the kicker - no tweaking done. Stock CFG file, LOD slider at highest, frames locked at 25.When I do slew fast to blur, the sim repopulates the textures as expected - faster than what FS2004 did in the same circumstance. -Greg

I think what would be most beneficial is if you folks not having any problems with blurries (appears to be only two of you so far) would post a complete detail list of:Your Graphics CardDriver version being usedGraphics Card control panel settingsFSX graphics settingsAny special tweaks made to FSX.CFGI realize this is probably about 50 or more settings, but it would be VERY helpful to all of us that are having blurries problem. Also, for those of you that Beta tested SP1, it would be nice to gather your settings data since you folks obviously didn't run into this problem (at least that's my assumption).Thank you.Robin.

no real blurries here either. I mean I get a few here and there if I am flying slow and fast but nothing to speak off. Stock install with sp1 and eaglesoft CRJ1. No cfg changes at all. I dont run with autogen though so that may be why I dont really get them since I understand that autogen priority may be the culprit but I am not a programmer so I could be wrong. EDIT- since I am not home I cant confirm the exact driver but I am running the 15x.xx drivers from Nvidia.

wow lucky you!!you have a RAID0 with the raptors?

No blurries pre or post over existing fsx or after clean install of fsx.dell xps410core2duo e6600 no o/c7900 gs 256mb 158.18. using default global settings.4 gb ramvista 32 homeno changes to stock fsx.cfg as far as tweaks, texture bandwidth at 30. Anitistropic and antialising checked in fsx.Doesn't matter what graphics settings I use, still no blurries except when system overloaded outside Philly, although they caught up and went crisp... that's the only blurries I've seen, otherwise crisp and clear.Ian.

I was getting buries with my (AMD X2 3800, 3GB Ram, Geforce 6100 onboard). I then downloaded new drivers for my Graphics and Processor - turned vertical sink off in the graphics options(reduced stutters). The most important thing i did was Lock the Frame rate at 30- before it was at unlimited frames and was getting 8-150fps with awful buries and jerkiness. I have everything turned down except for autrogen(med), Global texture(highest), and The two mesh settings(hightest) and getting a solid 30fps with no blurries what so ever. Also no tweeks to the FSX.cfg. Hope this helps a little

No, I'm not getting blurries. One system is a P4 3.2 ghz with 2GB ram and an ATI 1700 series cardThe other is a CoreDuo 2.4 ghz with 4 GB ram and an Nvidia 7950GTXOn both systems I do sometimes see a 'fuzzy' appearance very far from my aircraft. Some have posted screen shots calling it blurries - but it looks a lot more like the haze and softening of the horizon MS has been trying to achieve for several versions.I really prefer that to a sharp crisp horizon and detail 30-60 nm away, which I never see from a real airplane.I will get blurry textures right under the aircraft if I switch to an AI aircraft in the air or at an airport far from my aircraft - it takes about 3 to 5 seconds to stabilize the textures - less on the faster computer.I can also cause blurry textures by switching views quickly at times, which is the behavior I would expect to see. That also clears up once all the texturing passes have been completed.

No blurries but I do get some stuttering depending on where I fly. Most settings at max. Stats below...

The thing is, we need to define what blurries really are....And maybe some screenies. The biggest problem I see is texture loading times....they are insane for me - I can't fly faster than 100kts or the loading can't keep up...This could totally be hardware though (and most likely is) my poor old 3700+ single core can't keep ujp with the the big boys heheI'll post some shots of examples tommorow maybe off to work! boohoo

Appreciate the responses from everyone. But to help resolve this I'll need more details than you folks have provided.Specifically:1. Screen Resolution in FSX (i.e. 1920 x 1200, 1600 x 1200)2. Video Card's Control Panel: a. Antialiasing -- i.e. Application Controlled, Off, 2X thru 16X) b. Anisotropic Filtering -- i.e. Application Controlled, Off, 2X thru 8X) c. Image Setting -- i.e. High Performance thru to High Quality d. Vertical Sync -- i.e. Applicaiton Controlled, On, Off e. Force mipmaps -- None, Bilinear, Trilinear f. Conformant texture clamp -- On, Off g. Extension limit -- On, Off h. Hardware Acceleration -- Single display, Multi Display i. Trilinear Optimization - On, Off j. Anisotropic mip filter optimization -- On, Off k. Anisotropic sample optimization -- On, Off l. Triple Buffering -- On, Off m. Negative LOD bias -- Allow, Clamp n. Thread optimization -- Auto, On, Off3. FSX Graphics Settings: a. Filtering b. Antialiasing c. Global Texture Resolution d. Lens Flare e. Light Bloom f. Advanced animations FSX Aircraft Settings: h. 3D or 2D Cockpit i. show cockpit tool tips j. high resolution 3D Virtual cockpit k. Aircraft casts shadows on the ground l. Thermal Visualization z. Cloud Detail & coverage density FSX Traffic Settings: aa. Airline Traffic density ab. General Avaition Traffic density ac. Airport Vehicle Density ad. Road Vehicles ae. Ships and Ferries af. Leisure Boats

I was able to control the blurries with the following settings. But my FPS is now at 7 where it used to be 20-25 pre SP1. At Juliana Airport no bloom. Autogen and complexity is -1 from max. Traffic set at 50% Ultimate traffic. My definition of The Blurries:Takeoff, increase speed to cruise at around 3000ft, 150-170 ktsHere's some shots....unlimited FPS is worse, well, better FPS, but textures never catch up all the way....if you look for my other post, you'll find the exact settings I used (thread is post SP1 blurries or something - I started)First 2 are FPS locked at 10, then last one unlimited fpshttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/171883.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/171884.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/171885.jpg

Seems like a perfect opportunity to use FSX's new config settings save/load functionality. Attached is the config that I currently use. Also attached are two screengrabs showing my video card settings. I don't experience blurries in my normal flying though I can induce blurries by fast slewing or flying at a high rate of speed. Running FSX at 1280x1024x32 (native resolution of my monitor).Athlon 64 3500+ 2GB DDRATI Radeon X850 Pro AGPWinXP Pro SP2
