March 3, 20224 yr I am actually playing with the thoughts to uninstall ORBX Base and LC and get back to "default" P3D textures, I just TE products installed, and try this for a couple of weeks. Road lights are added in P3D as well, so this shouldn´t be a showstopper anymore. Because LM has updated the terrain, autogen and trees by adding PBR and increased the pixelsize also. What I do not know is, if uninstalling ORBX LC and ORBX Base is causing trouble on some of their Airports. Is anyone having experiences with this? Because ORBX often writes, ORBX base is needed to make the "airport scenery XYZ" work. Any reply or even experience is welcome. Thanks. Regards Marcus Regards, Marcus P.
March 3, 20224 yr Never tried it no need but you could simply open ORBX Central and un-install to find out. But you find it`s the airport has the problem in the sim. Raymond Fry.

There was a Frooglesim video some time ago about this exact language used on each product page:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t1JJoXy9wLY The answer is probably as @d.tsakiris pointed out. Some airfields won't match the surrounding areas perfectly/have some minor errors. So long as the Orbx Libraries (for autogen, etc.) are installed, I don't see why you cannot run your Orbx TE scenery and airfield products without the landclass texture products installed. March 3, 20224 yr I have every single ORBx UK small airfield package installed with TrueEarth GB. I have not noticed any blending problems from the air, but I would need to check to see if there are any elevation issues when on the ground. The only ORBx UK airports that I use with the PMDG 737 are EGHI Southampton, EGPB Sumburgh and EGPN Dundee, and they all work fine. There will probably be "snow" issues during Winter, but I never fly at that time of the year. I have uninstalled both Global and Vector. I do retain ORBX for a lot of other areas so it is a qualifiction. But for non ORBX areas that is where I do not have ORBX Base or LC installed I have no issue with any of the ORBX airport addons in P3DV5. There might be some minor stuff missing but I have not noticed. Have a look a the other thread with Ray and I about to keep or remove Global Base from P3D.
March 4, 20224 yr FTX Global Base is a ground texture replacement product. Orbx makes their airport textures blend with the coloring of the ground textures in their Global Base (at least in areas that don't require one of their regional products)...removing the base product won't make the airport go wonky, but the edges may contrast fairly sharply with the surrounding terrain textures. AFAIK, none of the Orbx airports require their LC products.
