A free version of FSUIPC has been available for decades.

You do need the paid/full version for this to work.

Addon webpage says a registered version needed, I guess it is the paid version.

That's unusual...

The registered version is required to program and use Lua scripts. It's a very powerful utility for the price.

I've been using this for about a month and it's superb! Thank you.

Is it possible to turn the "unstable" annos off? I'm on the glide & fully configured but I get a lot of "unstable, unstable." I understand I can change the airport elevation(s), but it would be easier for me to just switch off this one announcement.

Thank you!

Unstable alert is not related to a correct glide path, or angle or aircraft landing config, it surveys the vertical speed stability (computing normal deviation) on 15 seconds periods during final. Changing airport elevation would have NO effect.

As you have probably noticed, only a single argument can be passed through FSUIPC lua start command, so I cannot add startup options unfortunately. As you are the second guy to give feedback on this subject, I suppose I can relax a bit the unstable alert threshold.

Your download folder is fine.

1. Run MakeRunways. It will generate a file in the same folder called R4.csv. This takes about 10-15 minutes.

2. Copy R4.csv to your FSUIPC folder along with RAAS.lua and wsay.exe

You're only using MakeRunways to generate the csv file.

I have this application to load automatically. If you want the same, open fsuipc.ini from your FSUIPC folder and add:

[Auto]
1=Lua RAAS, 1

You don't need FSUIPC of any flavor for the FS2Crew version; I've been using it for a while and have never installed FSUIPC.  It went through a rough patch with the SU12 update's changes to the airport API, but is now working well again.  It's quite configurable, giving a lot of control over which alerts you get or don't, and you can set up profiles for each aircraft you use it with.  Makes it possible to model the options of a specific fleet at a specific operator.

I know this thread was about a freeware project and I don't mean to distract from that; community dev is wonderful and I'm thrilled we have the community we do.  If I'd known about this I probably would have tried it first, but oh well. I've been pretty impressed with the FS2C version though, so figured they deserved a plug ;).

And don't forget to activate all your 3rd party airport sceneries in community before running Makerunways!

@roland_lfor I understand your project is free, however, are you considering a rewrite in a language with which a simconnect SDK exists? I understand it’d be a massive undertaking of course but would really open to the amount of users who could use RAAS. I Ofc understand you not wanting to because of the hurdle but I figured I’d query none the less.

well i ran the makerunways and it just keeps saying Failed ?

As far as current version suits my needs, I won't go through dozens or hundreds hours of effort to get nothing more. Obviously it makes no sense. And honestly, you should consider purchasing FSUIPC, as it's a very useful utility, at low cost. This would also help getting FSUIPC support in the future... or consider to buy FS2Crew product?

I have one thing in my ToDo list: get rid of MakeRunways.exe initial process and R4.csv usage, as the current SDK, more mature now, can probably provide surrounding airport list and correct runway properties. (At the time of first MSFS version of RAAS, it was not possible). Not scheduled however.
