I have to start pumping a couple of minutes before the acce point. 2 minutes ago, psolk said: Yep, I was wondering if they would have done that or if they went South through the straight of Gibraltar would they have been able to get supersonic quicker and despite a longer routing perhaps have been quicker. I have to go to Simbrief and see what it really adds to the routing now 🙂 That southerly routing would take it beyond its range. Bear in mind the EGLL-TBPB route was right at its limit and often had a reduced passenger load. Sometimes they used a second Concorde or refuelled at Shannon. Ray (Cheshire, England). I always find the SIA story fascinating as so many people never think of SIA and the Concorde... https://mainlymiles.com/2021/06/03/singapore-airlines-concorde-the-full-story/ Edit: @MachTwo I think it was G-BOAD the dual liveried SIA bird that did Barcelona -NYC 🙂 Edited March 18, 20224 yr by psolk Have a Wonderful Day -Paul Solk

It was G-BOAD in 1978 as a charter for big spenders as G-BOAD was wearing her dual liveries, Singapore on one side BA on the other... I believe it was a one time flight. Personally I never knew of the SIN-LON routing via Bahrain with only a 40 minute fuel stop in Bahrain making for 10 hours on the Concorde! From mainlymiles.com as reference: Quote The aircraft regularly visited Bahrain, New York, Washington D.C. and Dallas on scheduled services. There were even charter flights, including the use of G-BOAD in 1978 on a Barcelona – New York flight for the top customers of a large Spanish bank! March 18, 20224 yr Commercial Member Ha - I found it. And the reason why I couldn't find it is...they did BCN-LHR-JFK 🙂 G-BOAD 25th Feb 1979. They never flew BCN-JFK. It seems they always went via LHR. And yes, at that time, it would have been G-N94AD painted in Negus/Singapore colours. Edited March 18, 20224 yr by MachTwo Andrew Wilson

It's been to MCO when Disney opened, Oakland, Seattle, New Orleans, San Francisco, privately chartered for a wedding at 55,000 feet, Phil Collins used it to play Live Aid in Philadelphia and London in the same day. Total charter destinations number ~150 locations... https://www.concordesst.com/history/destinations.html Edited March 18, 20224 yr by psolk Have a Wonderful Day -Paul Solk
March 18, 20224 yr The charters I'm pretty sure were one of the big money-spinners for Concorde for much of its service career - the NY route was popular but I don't think it was ever flown enough to keep the entire fleet occupied (at least in the case of BA who maintained a larger fleet for most of Concorde's career). The Novelty of chartering Concorde I'd imagine made it possible to push the prices up enough to allow flying routes that would otherwise not be viable on a scheduled basis. Goodwood travel I believe was one of the more prolific charterers of BA Concordes, and of course there were multiple round-the-world trips (I believe I have a DVD featuring one flown by -AD in 96). I'd definitely like to look into flying one of those trips at some point if I can collect the right airport sceneries. PUT In the UK. AMD Ryzen 5 5600x & Radeon RX6700XT. Prepar3Dv5 @1080p

I am the kind of guy that likes to be able to follow a tutorial step by step from start to finish (including all the switches and knobs that need to be used), so that would actually be a rather nice thing to try with Concorde. In fact, it would probably be required for me with an aircraft of this complexity! Looking at a 747 20,000ft below you as you overtook it at 800mph must have given them a huge superiority complex. 😉 For most yes, some transfered onto 747 some retired but i think the only adjustment was probably on duty time The guy I knew went back to 747 I'm sure for some it was a drag , but a lot of these guys had been in the air force so the speed was not a major draw for them. It was more the time on duty that suited them Pete Little

Knowing how you will handle that would be helpful. I’m a fan of ChasePlane so that may suffice. Many years ago Pete Dowson kindly printed the tutorial and I had it ring-bound at Staples. I would hope that tutorial minus the keyboard commands for the pop ups would be sufficient. It’s my checklist. Of course I’ll be flying LHR-JFK but hopefully the knowledge accrued to date will be sufficient with only navigating around the FE panel the main difference. Oh, and seeing the VC in all it’s UHD glory instead of a resized 1920*1080 image. Ray (Cheshire, England). March 18, 20224 yr did anybody ever get any hd/modern looking cockpit videos of takeoff and cold and dark starts etc? If not that is a shame.
