Super stuttery over mountains

Featured Replies

I started my first flight in a week or so today departing CYYC Calgary (so close to mountains) and had consistent stutters/long pauses while taxiing and even just sitting at the gate.  Something I haven’t seen before.  I’m now flying east away from mountains and stutters are gone.  But of course I’m also not at a large airport or in an urban area so hard to say if it’s tied to mountains or not.  Will have to see if the stutters return when i land in Toronto in a few hours.

Lots of stutters here over the British Columbia mountains. Frozen frames, sound cuts out, happens every 5-10 seconds. Unflyable.

Are you flying with the addon BC mesh?  If so, that is the likely culprit (see above).. try disabling it as a test.

I get this with ORBX Alaska mesh but it clears up when I reset my USB trackball.

Edit:    Disregard. my trackball was too close to my wireless keyboard.  Both bluetooth logitech.

I have just done a test flight in the Kodiak out of Orbx Talkeetna and headed north, straight over and through the Alaskan mountain range there, with Orbx Alaska Mesh activated, and not one stutter did I have. Definitely seems to be an issue for some and not for others.

Did a good 2 1/2 hrs flying in the BC  mountains last night to test and it was smooth as butter.  As Bert says, are you using an addon mesh?   If so disable it.   Virtually all addon mesh (except Orbx stuff) causes horrible stutter since the last update.

Not to be picky, but this started after SU7 and was not fixed in SU8.

I stand corrected!   I'd only noticed it since the SU8 Beta but it's highly possible I just didn't fly in an addon mesh area between SU7 and the SU8 Beta.    Thanks for clarifying.

The only mesh I currently have is Orbx mesh, so I can't tell if the issue is from other mesh or not. I can say that I have not had any issues flying over other mountains that I don't have mesh for at all as well. Hopefully, it will get fixed soon one way or other. 🙂
