March 21, 20224 yr I believe the CRJ has no autothrottle capability so my question is: how easily can one leave this plane in autopilot w/o bad things happening during flight due to speed changes? The Majestic Q400 was steady enough to get away with this , being able to leave the cockpit for 15 minutes w/o fear of losing control. Is the CRJ similar? Thanks! March 21, 20224 yr Yes once you’re established in cruise and have the power set for m.78 or whatever you want to cruise at it won’t change significantly enough to cause anything catastrophic. I leave it running for an hour or more fairly often without issues. March 21, 20224 yr You may run into one of those infamous wind shift events that could cause you to stall, but that’s more an Asobo issue than a CRJ one. Gary i9-13900K, Asus RTX 4080, Asus Z790 Plus Wi-Fi, 32 GB Ram, Seasonic GX-1000W, LG C1 48” OLED 4K monitor, Quest 3 VR

Once airbourne press nav and speed then autopilot. Set speed 250 throttle back to cruise then at 10000ft set speed to 290. Finally at cruise adust throttle back to .78 and it should hold. Decending is throttle back and v/s. You dont even need the hud. Simbrief flightplans need to be generated and placed in work folder from memory. Edited March 22, 20224 yr by 40track
March 25, 20224 yr Author I was interrupted and never followed thru on an intended purchase. I prefer to buy all addons from the MSFS Marketplace, but it doesn't list a latest version. Does anyone know if what is available in the Marketplace is reasonably up to date? March 25, 20224 yr Should be the latest version in the Marketplace, as there has not been an update for months. The development for the aircraft seems to have mostly stalled and Aerosoft appears to have moved on to new projects. Aerosoft still claims an update is coming but does not know when and there is no interaction from any of the developers on their forum anymore, bug reports and thread about issues are going without any developer reply. Just thought that might be something to take into consideration before buying, since the product does contain more than a few known to the dev since release, open issues that have recently celebrated their first birthday in MSFS without being fixed and no info on whether they will ever get fixed.

It is best to buy addons directly then through the marketplace (it's the only way you will get updates faster without waiting for ASOBO releases). Why I do like the basic idea having all my purchases under the same hood...I would not recomend the marketplace. Thanks for these insights. I wonder if this is mostly a case of bugs not being repairable until Asobo improves the SDK, or something along those lines. I assume so as it allows input discontinuity and star, dep/arrival changes like the P3D pmdg 737. (discontinuity is allowing change of flightleg eg arrival to be clicked on then clicking on discontinuity to change flight course for ATC requests if flying IFR or VFR and nearest airport.
