April 17, 20224 yr I think they should wait until SU11, never can tell what will happen when that one drops... 😉
April 17, 20224 yr lol... all this could have been avoided if Carts85 had just said Eusain Bolt, instead 😃 All peolples knows him Edited April 17, 20224 yr by icewater5 grammar

The Sam Hyde bit is a long running internet joke. They blame him for everything, including being the famed fighter ace, "The Ghost of Kiev". He's also soon to be the most prolific PMDG pilot to ever walk the face of the Earth. i9-10850K, ASUS TUF GAMING Z490-PLUS (WI-FI), 32GB G.SKILL DDR4-3603 / PC4-28800, GIGABYTE RTX5080 16GB WF OC 3 FAN running 3440x1440
April 17, 20224 yr Yeah Sam Hyde is pmdg's main beta tester, but he refused to do the insider beta so release has to wait...
April 17, 20224 yr ...what brings me to the next question... Me a beta tester for aircrafts (not pmdg) but we are generally forced to test on the latest sim beta just to ensure that the product will be tested with that very latest one. Even to test upcoming things that are part of it ( and hold the hand of the crying dev cause most things not documented and are trial and error 🙂 ) So I don't get the delay part honestly... The beta is continuosly updated, so even if it works now, there's no guarantee it will work in two weeks. So a release date in two weeks could not be upheld. For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

When the open beta starts the areas of change are set and only finetuning updates are coming along for the broader set of testers. Me think they are just not finished and not happy with the current state yet. But thats ok. Its ready when its ready... A month more or less isn't really making a big difference. Driving for perfection needs time.

There were two serious “showstopper” bugs in the original version of SU9 beta that absolutely would have negatively affected the PMDG 737 (or any aircraft written in WASM). Those bugs were not fixed until the latest revision of SU9 beta that released 4 days ago. That is probably why we have not seen any live streams of the 737 yet. Secondly: No one has ever said, that anything is being "delayed" (it's hard to delay something, which haven't gotten a release-date). Read the original post. They evaluating whether or not, they should move the release till after SU9. Evaluating - hence, not decided. Best regards,--Anders Bermann-- ____________________Scandinavian VAPilot-ID: SAS2471

Well, previous SUs have broken things, but the developers have either fixed what was broken by the SUs, , or put the broken things on "ignore". It hasn't stopped most of them from releasing new products and raking in the money.

The WASM bug that arose in the original version of SU9 beta would not have been something that PMDG (or any developer) could have worked around, and it certainly could not have been “ignored”. It would have prevented LNAV from working. It is fixed now, and I don’t know if there will be any further updates to SU9 beta. In any case, I doubt PMDG will release the 737 before SU9 is “official” on the 26th - but there should be nothing preventing preview livestreams now. There are still broken things in the DC6, which PMDG has known about for months, and frankly I doubt if they will ever be fixed. They are too busy working on the next project.

This surely made them cautious regarding the release date... but they could have done the stream on SU8, couldn't they? For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord.
