TDS GTN 750

Featured Replies

Does this payware GTN unit also show up on the drop down menu like the freeware version?

Thanks.

I don't think so.

What? That's terrible.

The freeware works with any airplane and is so much better that that crappy VFR map.

The TDS simulates exactly what I'd see if I were flying the real one.  I never use the popup map so it doesn't bother me.  Though you might be able to right click and pop it out - - never tried it though.

Thanks Ryan.

The dev is very responsive. He responded to my PM:

"TDS GTNXi works in two modes: VC Integrated mode as an integrated gauge which can be used in VR and POP-uped using the right ALT + left click, which works in aircraft add-ons that support this feature. We also offer a standalone version, which works in all other add-ons as a standalone window independent of MSFS, this window can be moved outside of MSFS to a second monitor."

"We currently do not have a MSFS drop down menu, but we are thinking about it for a future version."

When you load the sim, you will get a little program running in the hidden icons area on the bottom right of Windows. You can open the TDS app and select which GTN you want to use with any plane loaded. This will give you a pop out exterior window for the gtn you can move to a second monitor etc.

anyone have both the tds and the pms750 - which would you say was better and (aware of the TDS's weather limitation but assume they both have the traffic/TCAS functionality?) and can they both be installed together or does this cause a conflict?

As Ryan said, the TDN use the actual Garmin trainer, so it works exactly like the real unit, with (close to) every feature.

I have them both, and for me, the TDS is the only unit I use.  I have it installed in my RV14, C414, C310, C337, M20, and Seminole.

If you are looking for a popup map to go with other airplanes, the PMS unit is the one.. but I do not use it for that purpose.

They do not operate together.. you have to chose one or the other for any aircraft you own.

funnily enough just looking at the TDS 750 + Milviz 310 combo - is it feature rich like the FSX/P3D version?

Use the TDS unit on an iPad using an app like SpaceDesk.

The TDS 750 is as real as the real unit minus a few bits like weather radar that MSFS doesn't expose.

Not sure what you mean by feature rich.. but it is better than the P3D version, in my books.
