Anyone knows if it will support running FMC on external device, such as iPad?

Not natively, but it will have the API for Aviasoft (or so) to do this, will probably not take long. They (Aviasoft) have a support forum here on Avsim, in case you wanna ask.

People are complex, not simple.  I have given PMDG praise and criticism over the years.  Randazzo amuses me sometimes, and I think he has a genuine passion for aviation and this hobby, he’s not the spawn of satan, but at the exact same time, there is and has been criticism that is WELL earned.  People don’t generally just fit into hard good/evil camps as easy as that would be to want to do.

That may be true, but people have a tendency - at least in my experience - to 'tear people a new one', than to praise them. Because of this, I always take critisism more lightly, than when/if someone recommends or praises one another.

On the internet, anonymously, yes, the negative reigns supreme.  In person, or if you aren’t anonymous the opposite is true.  Robert isn’t anonymous. I don’t think it’s insincere,  he probably likes the Leonardo guys and their product, and wants them to do well with it.

I was responding to someone who was indicating that him making that nice comment invalidates anyone who has ever said anything bad about him or his company, which is in any sort of logical sense ridiculous, there have been mass murderers who love puppies, to use an extreme example.  Robert said some nice things about Leonardo, and he makes good products.  He also charged users 140 dollars for a slightly modified installer a few years back.  Yin.  Yang.

Agreed. Although, I have no 'bone to pick' with Robert. I generally think he's a nice and honest person (now, I haven't spoken with him, in real life!), who says what he thinks. I can kinda understand many of the comments he's making - and that he gets heat for. He's probably dealing with the same questions asked a thousand times. Users twisting and analyzing any word or sentence he's making, then creating their own meaning out of them, and then critizising him afterwards for not holding up his end of their make-belief opinions they think he's expressed. No wonder, he gets (or seems) a little off-temper sometimes? Cut the poor man some slack, please.
What I've learned and experienced from Robert and PMDG in the 16-17 years, I've been a customer with them is, that one should - generally - take what Robert says quite literally and not analyze and/or entrepred his sentences. Otherwise you'll just end up being disappointed.

Just my opinion, of course.

I'm not sure how that relates to anything I said or my point in this thread.  My issues, such as they are, with Robert and PMDG have little to do with statements that he has made, and more to do with actions and behavior (and not just of Robert)  Yes, there are many people on this forum who over analyze public statements to a weird degree.  I'm not aware of having done that.

And I'm still a customer. and am going to buy the product,  we don't all have to kiss his word not allowed constantly do we?  he still gets my money.

I'm not sure I understand your attitude in this. I assume, that his/their actions and behavior is inferred from their statements. Unless you have a peephole or camera at their office?

In any case - this 'debate' is an exercise in futility, IMO. Let's just agree to disagree.

at this point I'm not even actually sure what you are disagreeing with me about.

This is great news that Robert brings us...fingers crossed for next weekend! I'm going to light a good cigar to celebrate this news!

Great news? What, the news that the plane has a show stopping bug that will probably require fixes from Asobo?

Another typical Randazzo media release, with an insinuation - “I would like you to be flying this next weekend” - that excites the fans whilst also giving him wiggle room when he inevitably fails to deliver the product again?

Spoiler: You’re not going to be flying this plane next weekend.

You'll soon get sick of the automation of the 737 and get a serious craving for a more complex aircraft to fly. The Maddog always wins...

Maddog is awesome, but 737 has enough manual tasks to make it interesting. It feels like a piece of tech that’s somewhere between an MD-82 and a 777 from a user perspective.

can we please get a PMDG release probability status message, preferably updated 4 times an hour, like ATC: on initial Avsim contact, confirm you have PMDG-Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, Delta ...

Lol.  Self awareness? It’s a toughie isn’t it?😃

I like Robert Randazzo. He once waved to me as he taxied past in the PMDG DC-3. Cynics might say he was waving at the entire 10,000-strong airshow crowd, but I know it was meant for me.

Surely not everybody was kung fu fighting.

Of course not. I was excited to learn that it will be released next weekend if the bug was fixed.

Yeah, I know. I'm just joking. My comment is not directed at you specifically, moreso the general PMDG approach to marketing their planes. Mr Randazzo is a little prone to a bit of hype and the odd overly-optimistic release date. 🙂

I'm as excited as anyone here for the 737-700 release, whenever it finally does happen.

Uh ohhh, PMDG accidentally made their landing bug debug video on their youtube channel viewable under certain circumstances. The bit in the video description doesn't instill a lot of confidence that this is going to be fixed quickly unless someone pulls a miracle.
