Do you have to install the Hoppie Acars software for the Simbrief integration to work?

No, works out-of-the-box.

Actually you don't even need the Hoppie software for CPDLC, works out-of-the-box too.

I had another go at EFB to MCDU FP transfer & this message came up at the bottom of the MCDU:

"OAC SEC (or SFC, can't view bottom edge of MCDU), F-Plan Uplink"

Which suggests the EFB & MCDU aren't talking to each other?

Fixable?

Also, noticed on the EFB in green wording something about -128 mins to departure.

Could that be affecting EFB/MCDU communication?

Do you mean "AOC SEC F-PLN UPLINK"? If so, it means it's been imported into your SEC F-PLAN on the MCDU as you most likely have your engines running when you did the import. That is what happens in the aircraft in the real world. If the engines were off and you imported it, it would be on your first F-PLAN page.

Click "SEC F-PLN" and see if its there.

Ah!

Yes, engines running.

I will check SEC F_PLN

Thank you

Bob- it’s a manual trim wheel- there is no trim rocker. PLEASE take time and educate yourself step by step… there’s A LOT to learn.

Yeah, I am looking at the flight plan that I did on simbrief, after I loaded it into the MCU, and it is almost unrecognizable. I am seeing alt flight plan pieces, etc.. Crazy. This FP is a mess, going to have to start over I guess, for the 15th time.

Also it’s good to use the provided simbrief FENIX profile, it’s somewhere on this forum. After flight plan is loaded remove the discontinuities and add the sid stars and you’re set.

Hey guys just a question, if we input the FLAP / THS setting do we then need to manually adjust the trim also or is it one or the other ?

Yes, you need to do both.

The first is just informing the FMS what configuration (flaps and trim) you'll be using for takeoff. But you then also need to set flaps and trim accordingly.

Alright:

0) Make sure that you have the navigraph navdata active and current for the Fenix!
1) Create a flightplan on simbrief, just choose anyone (look for correct navdata cycle! green square on the top left)
2) Start a flight, cold&dark preferably.
3) Turn on the batteries and GPU or APU
4) Open the app on the left side of the AFB (Fenix)
5) Now tap on the EFB screen until it says something like simbrief import. When you did it right, you will now see the correct DEP and DEST on the EFB
6) Almost done: On the MCDU INIT page click on the orange "init request"
7) Done. After a couple of seconds there should be the flight plan (without STARs or SIDs, thus only the cruise waypoints) on the flight plan page.

I flew with the update.  It sounds better, it flies better and it did everything the way it should including a full ILS approach and autoland.  I love my PMDG 737 but this is a fine aircraft and worth every penny or peso, etc.  No problems at all and wonderful frame rates on my modest rig.  I-5-2500K and a 2060 Super with 32GB of memory.

I'm about to go back & reacquaint myself with the BAE 146.

I think I had more hair left after flying that.

So far the A320 has been disappointingly difficult to master.

Don't quit! Keep at it. Use Nyxx's checklist every time. It will start to click for you after a bit. There is a method to the madness and you'll get a Eureka! moment and it will all make sense.

Option 1: Take off perf calculator on the EFB
Option 2: Fuel prediction page AFTER engines started (it will tell you the CG to set; on the trim wheel you have CG or a decimal value from the EFB, both works)

Don't see a Perf Calculator on the EFB....

Departure perf...? Second from the left? Blue color?

Hey, thanks for your help. I think I am done with this aircraft for his weekend, I have a gigantic headache and haven't gotten basically nowhere, since 8 this morning. Still can't get a decent looking flightplan into the MCDU...Unreal...🤬

Don't see anything like that on my EFB. I can't even get V speeds to come up on the MCDU...
