NOTHING is free, you know what i mean. But it's just a rant anyway, i guess it's the price you have to pay for "modern" software.

spawning the carrier simobject in the SDK doesn't seem to have collisions, must be something special they do in the landing challenge.

loving your analysis

some interesting facts in the carrier sim.cfg

[General]
category=Boat
HasMovingPlatform = 1

[Carrier]
carrier = 1

not yet documented, so probaly we must wait at least SU10

According to the Q&A they had real pilots come in to test the F-18 stuff, on carrier landings. They have a former TOPGUN on the team.

For the Darkstar they had help with the aerodynamics from someone they're not allowed to talk about. An unamed company that is working on a similar aircraft.

They want to add the carrier to free flight eventually. The carrier in the challenge is moving.

But it's free.

Free to help entice new people to buy the product, Sim Racing Devs have been doing this for decades.

That's what this DLC is primarily all about; Marketing.

Thanks for the pics - this actually looks kinda fun to zoom around in.  Think it can handle some bush strips?

Anyone know why the top secret plane, the Darkstar, has to invert itself? I just did the Darkstar mission.

Was that a common procedure with the SR 71 as well, that the SR 71 had to invert itself? What it the scientific/physics reasoning that the SR 71, or in this case, the Darkstar, has to invert itself?

Wish ASOBO more focus on serious updates and bug clearing instead such DLC's or improving textures on Barcelona roofs

Different team works on different aspect of the game. the Top Gun DLC has been ready for a long time but couldn't be released because the movies wasn't. Of course they are working on fixing bugs and other issues.
