Pilot2ATC and Fenix A320 and PMDG 737

Featured Replies

In the meantime we also have FSHud,which is a nice newcomer imho. Very easy to use. It's a bit like default ATC but without its oddities. All the other ATC addons (all two of them LOL) offer too many options, have an ugly or too big interface (imho 😎) and ask to much input (again imho). I like the simplicity and clarity of FSHud. You load a Simbrief plan with one click and off you go. It's a work in progress though so it still has a few problems of its own. But I am using it with the Fenix A320 all the time and it works great.

You know, what I really like about Pilot2ATC is...

  • support, Dave is amazing, seems like I get emails back within minutes (even on weekends)
  • easy flight planning, drag and drop on the interactive map and importing plans from pretty much any source
  • excellent SID/STAR planning again being very clear and concise in the map
  • easy wx from any airport
  • airport info at the touch of a button, gates, runways, freqs...
  • the map layout itself with selectable styles

These are just a few items.  Yeah, I know you may find similar in other programs, but this brings them all home to a single source.  Weird is I have the full subscription to Navigraph yet have never really used it (only to have a single source data base the sim and planes). I often bring up the Pilot2ATC app even when doing a VFR flight just for the utilization of the interface.  And a side note make sure you get the 'chatter' addon, very very cheap but great ambiance.

Don’t forget, it will vector you in to runways that don’t have published approaches

Somewhere I read, here on Avsim, that FSHud has a big impact on performance on busy airports. As I am running on an "average" system, this made FShud a no-go for me. I don't see that they have a demo available, so I can't try it. With regard to default ATC, imho it's a RPOS (Royal piece of you-know-what 🙂 )

Kind regards,

I've been considering these very options myself. Hate the outdated, clunky interface of P2ATC when I tried it. I didn't have much luck getting it working well. Not sure if my trial ran out or not to give it a go again. I've been eyeballing PF3 and FSHud as well. Just can't seem to make up my mind. I'm just loath spending more money.

One question you guys might be able to help me with. Do any of these programs handle missed approach and holds automatically? I want to fly and have that happen at times to make the flights have some variety.

FSHud doesn't do that (yet!). Don't know about P2ATC.

P2ATC, doesn't do it "automatically" you have to declare a missed approach but it will vector you to the correct missed approach hold pattern.

So it is planned?

What about holds due to congestion?

Well... a lot seems to be wished but I am not really sure what exactly is actually planned. That 'yet' mainly was a personal addition because imho FSHud should take care of holds if it ever wants to be considered a full and complete ATC addon. 😉 I do know the developer also wants to add 'everything' you'd expect from an ATC addon but I'm not sure if he will be able to add it all.

Possibly, but I have never seen it.

The only annoying thing is since it cannot control AI traffic I have been cleared to land meanwhile the in game ATC is lining up an airplane that I am on final to.

Pilot2ATC I bought and have used for the last fews weeks with the "beta" its now a one click to import your simbrief flight plan with SID & STARS.

Its great wish I had bough it months ago.

This topic have nothing to do with FSHud.

ATC will tell you to hold short for in coming aircraft coming into land. Line up after exit etc. Not had a go around yer.

No holds in P2ATC.

For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

If you are using AIG, this is easily corrected via TC, been a real good thing for me.

I am... and I use Traffic controller but they still lined up a plane while I was on final.

I am not sure how AIG would know that I am on final and not just flying low around the airport, not like you put in a flight plan to it.
