June 6, 20223 yr Why, after nine updates, ATC is still not able to give me the QNH in millibars? Would that be so difficult to fix? Cheers, Bert AMD Ryzen 5900X, 32 GB RAM, RTX 3080 Ti, Windows 11 Home 64 bit, MSFS 2024
June 6, 20223 yr Yeah, I don't understand those things neither. My personal fight is with control sensitivities. I still think that MSFS they are too sensitive. Unless you turn them down to at least -50%, a gentle input will have a huge effect. Oh yeah... and winds. Flying over the alps almost always feels like a washing machine... in a A320. And I am flying that rout IRL - never had it been as wild as in MSFS. 😄 Happy with MSFS 🙂 home simming evolved

Well, it's never going to get fixed if we just sit here and do nothing. Bert, you were the FIRST person to sign up for Occupy Redmond, the people-powered protest movement that successfully got MS Flight shut down. Well done! Unlike our original leader, Dighost, you seem to have escaped the attention of the authorities. Following the success of #OR1, I did hope that the community would rally together for an #OR2 protest, directed at MSFS: For a brief, shining moment, #OR2 looked like it might achieve significant change. Unfortunately, the movement was sadly crushed by one of the Avsim mods: "Your attempt to start an occupy Redmond is a direct insult to the very developer that is the very reason we have flight simulators. The fact that you think it's ok in today's environment to protest and occupy is itself patently offensive." If that hadn't happened, I'm 100% sure that we could have got Microsoft to back down and agree to report the QNH in millibars. Maybe it's time to gather our placards and warm cups of tea, and book a plane flight over to Redmond? Solidarity forever! Edit: I see that tweekz posted whilst I was typing this. A quick perusal of our membership lists (and the Avsim archives) shows that HE was the first person to sign up for #OR2. Surely, this is a sign from the heavens that it is time for #OR3! I'm just not that fond of all the quirks... It scares me you were able to find that though 😦 Cheers, Bert AMD Ryzen 5900X, 32 GB RAM, RTX 3080 Ti, Windows 11 Home 64 bit, MSFS 2024

Especially in the beginning. ASOBO has subsequently improved things, but it still remains an issue in my opinion. It annoys me because if you lower the sensitivity, you actually get an exponential curve - while with low deflections you get increased precision, with high deflection it's getting even worse. But maybe it's all realistic and the distances of a joystick are just too short compared to a yoke / stick. Asobo is very careless with some details. They concentrate on other things, it seems, like getting the Xbox version running, or updating the world. Another topic would be the wind speeds. I set them to 2km/h (yes "km/h" in hybrid mode), and get 8kts of wind according to ATIS, but only 5kts actually in the air. Then there are those airports like EDDF with lots of signs on the taxiway. Things like this would make me doubt the quality of a developer, if the product overall wasn't such a masterpiece. Strange! Paul Schmidt We're fools to make war on our brothers in arms.
June 6, 20223 yr Okay you got me with that topic title 😄 For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

You would think that something like calculating wind speeds correctly would be a breeze. (Sorry...)
June 7, 20223 yr This has been bugging me since the beginning. Shouldn't take that many work hours to implement ATC pressure readouts in millibars. You'd think. Anyway great thread title! 7950X3D | RTX 4090 | 64GB DDR5
