If people are just after a general performance boost and dont want any PG then yes, just turn it off completely. Ok, I see. I did not realize there was a bug in *some* of the files -- I thought it would be all PG that's bugged. So someone (accurately) determined what the bugged files were? June 17, 20223 yr I'm going to have to start using addons linker to put stuff in and out of MSFS from Official like JacquesBrel and GSAlden are doing. The first mention of doing that I happened to have seen was by fppilot: Mandatory add-ons for MSFS - Page 2 - Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020) - The AVSIM Community 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. Crystal Light VR.
June 17, 20223 yr I've got a couple of folders set up for the addons linker and the "official" MSFS folder. One is where I store all the stuff, scenery and aircraft, that I've bought from the MS Store, and a more recent one where I moved all the default aircraft. In both cases the actual files are held in these folders, and the linker places junctions (in my case, rather than symlinks - just a choice thing) in the official folders as necessary. I have a couple of linker presets - "all off", which disables everything, and "all off and store reinstated" which turns all the community addons off but puts the official folders back to fully populated. This is what I set whenever I do a sim update. It lets MSFS find everything it expects in case it needs to update anything. The thing with the default aircraft is a fair bit more complicated than just what's described here. If anyone wants to do the same let me know and I'll elaborate. Ryzen 9 7900X, Corsair H150 AIO cooler, 64 Gb DDR5, Asus X670E Hero m/b, 3090ti, 13Tb NVMe, 8Tb SSD, 16Tb HD, 55" Philips 4k HDR monitor, EVGA 1600w ps, all in Corsair 7000D airflow case. Sims in use - 2020, 2024, XP-12 and -11, FSX/SE, P3Dv4.5 and v5.4. DCS and AFS2 installed but rarely used

June 18, 20223 yr Author Just made a OneStore Addons Linker folder in C and put the 9 PG cities folders in there. In AL Options/Advanced I enabled the feature to make links for the default OneStore and also pointed to my new folder. It seems to work perfectly ! Thanks for all suggestions and help. June 18, 20223 yr OK, just to see if I understand this all correctly... 1. I just created the same folder links structure shown in GSalden's post above using my Addons Linker (copied the original 9 folders from the main MSFS installation OneStore folder to a different folder location). 2. Then deleted the original 9 folders in the main MSFS installation OneStore directory. 3. The 9 folders are now listed in my Addons Manager ready to be Activated or Deactivated. I normally fly in the U.S. using the sim. So when I'm doing that now, I would DEactivate the other 8 folders, but STILL Activate the "fs-base-coverage-map-us2-tin" folder in Addons Linker? And do the same process for the other 8 geographic file locations if I'm ever flying in any of them sometimes? Only Activate the areas I'll actually be flying in geographically? I'm still a bit confused about "which files" are the "bugged" ones that I should ALWAYS (?) be DEactivating for now. I'm assuming there are some "original" PG files\folders that are OK from what I've read in this thread, but some of the "updated" PG files for the same geographical locations are "bugged" and causing problems? Are the 9 files I just moved to the Addons Linker ALL "bugged" ones? Or just some of them? Or any of them? Thanks for any clarification. Edited June 18, 20223 yr by FalconAF Rick Ryan

I did not test it, but you now can easily activate/deactivate folders and see which one(s) are causing this after loading MSFS and checking the framerate… Within 15-20 min you will know You might do this for a US airport and non US airport to be sure.
