They have obviously made some positive improvements in clouds and METAR blending in SU10 beta.

Good to hear! Thanks for sharing!

Most of what is said on the Internet may be the same thing they shovel on the regular basis at the local barn.

Jim has a very good point here, there is something different in the SU10 beta and for me I would have to say it is a step in a positive direction. Cloud depiction is definitely better. It is good to see they are moving forward on this as I felt WX improvement was kind of stalled.

I agree that there have been some changes in SU10 and the pipeline updates between METAR and Meteoblue have resulted in some improvements. Definitely still much work to do, but I appreciate that ASOBO will continue to work on the weather and cloud depiction.

Although only about 12 hours or so in SU10 thus far, still seeing that the clouds themselves are still very transparent and "too much white" in most cases (no changes to the physical look of them but structure and layer depiction have been changed/improved).

Still on my wishlist is giving users the ability to turn off METAR all together and just use the organic meteoblue live forecast weather like we had at release. Still a lot of "fighting" going on between METAR and METEOBLUE live weather forecast. I've noticed that most rain clusters are in a circle around the airports, and although not always the case this is causing conflict between the two weather types. A good example is when I was flying into a Georgia airport last night and a Thunderstorm was nearby. METAR updated and it was a pretty sudden change because the storm had moved South and weakened between METAR updates. This would not have happened with the Meteoblue live forecast model only. The storm would have built up, moved and dissipated at a realistic and organic pace, instead it simply "disappeared". EDIT this just happened again tonight around the Orlando, FL area. Drastic change of clouds/weather the nearby storms just "vanished" when the METAR update took place in the sim.

Overall, these were the best thunderstorm depictions I have seen in MSFS in many months. They have obviously made some positive improvements in clouds and METAR blending in SU10 beta. This is very encouraging.

I flew the PMDG 737 into Myrtle Beach (KMYR) a several hours ago in the late afternoon where there were some light storms/rain and that approach was the best depiction of bad WX I have seen since the early releases.. That was my second flight in the Beta...my first leg was 'severe clear'.  The multiple cloud layers were nice and it got really dark as I descended from the bright skies above the clouds. I encountered some wind gusts as well on final...

What is this? A poll with actual percentages?! My my, not something you would see on the official forums.

Bad weather with low visibility looks great, it hides all the flaws. And as nice as that sounds, where are the pics?

I have been looking through a bunch of videos from last year (april-june) and I can't say I am seeing any magical clouds. Weather from today looks very similar and better in many situations.

I took about a year off without flying, clouds look worse IMO, but it's hard to judge since there is a lot of randomness to it.

I’ve noticed fewer jarring transitions, but still too many steamy puffs which don’t really look like clouds.

One of the biggest issues with live weather now imo. Why is it so patchy and tenuous? Are clouds even volumetric still? Looks more like stretched layers of transparent textures. Many times they act like soapsuds, popping into smaller ones as you get close.

I'm at FL360 SW of Yangon (Myanmar) Live WX, no disconnect message or whatnots. Smack in the middle of the monsoon, and the skies are clear as far as the eye can see.

Cloud depiction is a problem, with or without them, ha! 😕

Cheers,
