Unless Win 11 starts offering very meaningful performance/feature improvements for MSFS perhaps thru DX12 not supported by Win 10 no good argument for upgrading a solid Win 10 install. Plus, I have an I9-9900K proc and despite comments that there are optimizations in Win 12 for I9-12x procs I'd really like to see exactly what. I figure I'll be up for a new mainboard, CPU, RAM in about 2-3y time so at that point would be worth the migration to Win 11. Windows enthusiast sites like Thurott and Windows central reporting MS is going back to a 3yr roadmap release cycle. We'll see. I'm still on Win10 myself from my new build last year. I'll probably upgrade before the Windows 11 free upgrade expires in Oct (expected or earlier per some reports) Semper Fi

Given the assumption that most people also do other things with their PC besides MSFS 🙂

It’s probably a case that your motherboard does not have a TPM (Trusted Platform Module) which is a hardware security device - or if it does, the TPM is not enabled. I was able to enable the TPM on my ASUS mobo, but my system still fails the Health Check due to the CPU. I had a look at the list of approved Intel CPUs https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/design/minimum/supported/windows-11-supported-intel-processors and it looks like the i7-7700K isn't there. Indeed, nothing less than a 10th generation i7 processor appears. At the time that MS released W11 that may have been the most current Intel processor. Really aggressive decision by MS, but there we are.
