Early results what is best combo with DX 11 or DX12

Recommended Posts

In my opinion its no contest, TAA with either DX11 or DX12 is far sharper than DLSS which is okay but looks slightly blurred.

I'm for now using DX11 and DLSS (Quality)

Same for me, the first thing i saw starting with DX12 and the new NV GRD was that grahikel Artefakt what should be gone with this Driver 🤔

Aswell i had some wired performance with different planes so no chance at the moment to go with DX12..

cheers 😉

Early indications showed promise with DX12 for me, either way I’m sticking with TAA as I’m CPU bound - DLSS is of no use to me right now.

I've tested TAA v DLSS in DX12 with the new studio driver and get 4 or 5 more FPS in DLSS Quality than I do with TAA but for me TAA looks better.  I'm pretty much sticking with TAA for now and locking at 30 FPS.

I've not used DX11 at all since SU10 update.

Most of my flying is in the 152, 172, ultralights and sailplanes (or microlights and gliders for those that speak proper English 😀).

Perhaps will I suggest all users to optimize the sim as suggested by GeForce Experience. First time, after installing the new Nvidia driver, I changed nothing to my graphic settings, except DLSS (DX11). I noticed no significative change in FPS. Then, I optimized these settings (staying in DX11) according to GeForce experience optimized settings : the FPS raised significantly (around 10 more) and I gained some more FPS by switiching to DX12. But I have to do more flights, in different weather configuration on heavy airports (flying my beloved PMDG 738 !).

Thanks but no thanks.

1080p screen + rtx270 + Studio driver + DX12 + TAA + locked at 30fps with vsync on = best, stutter free performance I’ve had in MSFS so far.

Studio driver, DX11 or 12 - switching between them to test, not much in it for me as both are now silky smooth with DLSS, so DLSS at quality with various sharpening tweaks, plus the fuzzy flat screens are not too bad in 4k anyway, but the performance is so much better on my PC with DLSS.

With this and the rest of the SU10 update, it is the best experience I have had with the sim so far.

Can't wait for Canada, the Anniversary version with all the new content, and even a look at the SU11 beta change log - I am still opted in to the beta programme.

Call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind, but I prefer Rob.

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

same. TAA under DX12 costs me some 4-5 fps as I just noticed vs DLSS and DX12. such a pity that DLSS still not "works" with the glass cockpits of my heavies... so despite what I just said in another thread about the AMD fidelity sharpening I may indeed revert to DX11 and TAA...

Blimey, can only fream of running a render scale of 120 at 1440.  What CPU and GPU are allowing you to do that?  I'm guessing at an RTX3090 and a 5950X.
