September 30, 20223 yr I am on the verge of buying XP12. I have watched several videos where it looks like flickering is an intermittent but somewhat irritation problem at times. Any comments from some of you who have used the produict?
October 1, 20223 yr I can't really comment on how you will use it - its still early access so there are several pretty nasty known issues that I have high confidence will be fixed to a high standard reasonably soon. Quote Known Bugs Contents [hide] 1 Known Bugs 2 Bug Fixes 2.1 Beta 5 2.2 Beta 4 2.3 Beta 3 2.4 Beta 2 2.5 Beta 1 Incomplete or missing features in Alpha/Early Access: Master-external visual networking New XPLM APIs Airbus A330 FMC In progress features: Tuning lighting & fog LIT textures Performance VR holodeck lighting Far trees don’t look great Better cloud shapes, especially cirrus Performance tuning XPD-11214 Plane Maker CG/Lights/Tanks Position Markers Not Visible. XPD-12879 Wake turbulence broken for 3rd party integrations. https://www.x-plane.com/kb/x-plane-12-00-release-notes/ generally they put a new build out every few weeks which fix some things and break others. such is flight sim. What I can say, is for the last couple of weeks (save a lot of broken for me in beta 4) Ive hammered the xp12 R44 by vskylabs in every weather condition Ive flown in irl, and a few I would never even start the engine, in VR, absolutely flawlessly. Also, if you dont have XP11 and buy XP12 from Laminars website your XP12 key will work on the XP11 installer, which is rock solid - if lacking in many of the visuals - and there is more than enough just in freeware to play with to keep you entertained every day for 8 hours until XP13 is released. October 1, 20223 yr If you are concerned about such things, then don't get in yet. The only official stable version is 11.55 it's a early beta version of XP12 with several heavy 'issues'. I enjoy it nevertheless, but YMMV my African sceneries for MSFS : https://darshonaut.blogspot.com/p/msfs-2020.html

The flickering clouds and artifacts are terrible for me right now which almost make it unplayable! Everybody's machines are different, so I would download the demo and try it for yourself. Maybe you will have better results. October 1, 20223 yr I haven't yet tried b5, however b4 gives me eye cancer inducing flickers in certain situations. Richard 7950x3d | 32Gb 6000mHz RAM | 8Tb NVme | RTX 4090 | MSFS | P3D | XP12
October 1, 20223 yr I had a great flight down from KJFK-KMIA in the Toliss A321, clouds were much improved, and no sign of the pixelating clouds. This was in Beta 5 AMD Ryzen 7 5800x3d, MSI X570 Pro, 32 gb DDR4 3600 ram, Gigabyte 6800 16gb GPU, 1x 2tb Samsung NvMe , 1x 2tb Sabrent NvME, 1x Crucial 4tb Nvme M2 Drive
October 2, 20223 yr Author Appreciate the time you all took to respond. Looks like it is a hit or miss thing. I will try the demo for spending the $60.00. Hope that LR will prioritize this and get it fixed for our community.

Even under b6 I can not use my Toliss A321 at all because of the constant flickering of all display panels. (Linux Mint, Ryzen 5900X RX 6900 XT) Jürgen Martens, DK7HN
October 10, 20223 yr I've seen some of the videos; what I see with the ol' Mk.I eyeballs looks more like photostrobing flashing. Games warn about this pre-load.
