Around 3 weeks ago I started to get 'friend requests' EVERY time I start MSFS even before I select a departure airport.

And it's always from the same 'user ' - FREEHANDLYRIC.

I there a setting which can prevent this annoying popup? I have NOT changed any settings yet this started to happen a few weeks ago.

Why don't you want to be his friend?

Yes that is correct. 

Library, click your user name, Friends, Add friends, (his name), then click Block

I don't have the steam version.

I don't care if he/she is a friend or not BUT if I click on the popup 'window' nothing happens. I can remember these requests popping up a year ago and when I clicked on the window something 'happened' but not6 any more. Has things changed? What is the procedure to either accept the invite or not?

Did you not hear the old saying:  Keep your friends close, but keep your enemies closer. 😏

I handle these friend thingies in the Xbox app. (Community Tab)

Gosh if only, after 2 years I still await a friend request 😞

If you ask nicely in Hangar Chat, I'm sure you can quickly reap large amounts of friend requests 😄

Hey guys I do NOT care if I get friend requests BUT how on earth do I either accept the request or not when I click on the request and nothing happens?

I am sure a year ago it was possible. Another Asobo anomaly?

Did you try in the XBox App > Community?

I could not determine which setting in the app controls friend requests and maybe I'm not looking at the correct app.

What I run is XBOX Gamebar then  select SETTINGS then NOTIFICATIONS  then I see a 'bunch' of NOTIFY ME (when) but I don't really care all that much to get a requests but when I do am I supposed to simply click on (left mouse button) the 'request' (which I am doing but nothing then happens).

What I'm talking about is the Xbox app for Windows, not the Game Bar. I think you have it installed. Check your Windows Start Menu (Windows button on Task Bar), my last 2 items are Xbox (which is the Xbox app) and Xbox Game Bar. Open the Xbox app and check Community. There you have your friends and friend requests.

If you don't have the Xbox app installed (which I doubt) you can install it from this link: https://www.xbox.com/en-US/apps/xbox-app-for-pc

No I did NOT have that app installed and did NOT know about it.

All I had was  Xbox Game Bar   and Xbox Console companion.

Strangely though as mentioned before, when a request comes up in MSFS I do not appear to have ANY control on it in MSFS, clicking on it does nothing. Surely when such a request pops up I shouldn't have to open that app  just to react to it? Weird.

I did NOT see anything in Community regarding FreeHandLyrec requesting to be friends so once again why do these requests pop up in MSFS and I can't react to them?
