Come on guys... Stop making this thread derails like always as it's probably not far from being closed.

Even a moderator is dropping new coins in the juke-box! how sad!

This is not a debate about my sim is better than yours. Each to his own. some people are still using P3D, good for them.

The thread is about developpers moving out from P3D. That is sadly a fact. P3D is still working nicely and for many years but with less new projetcs.

C'mon Ray, as a moderator you shouldn't be lowering yourself to the level of 'my Sim is better than yours'.

The MSFS people are only going to throw back '..enjoy your stagnant, never evolving Sim.'

Firstly, I posted that as a member, not a mod. Pointing out reasons why I am staying with P3D is not a “my sim is better…”. It stated actuals, not an opinion.

And that is my final word on this. I have nothing to add to the topic title so there’ll be no further comments from me.

My point is that only one sim platform has an absolute lack of clarity regarding its future. Why should I keep investing or even using it?

There are reasons. One is, like already said, lack of communication doesn't necessarily mean lack of progress. Two, P3D is still a capable, stable and widely supported platform. Three, some of us (me included) have elaborate set-ups that are working very well. I am certainly not going to switch platforms and start from the beginning just because of a company's communication policy - especially because I am convinced there is a better P3D version in the pipeline.

You laud the benefit of constant change but fail to mention the many occasions serious bugs have been introduced and have required hot fixes. The latest problem with weather is the absence of cloud. No doubt it will be fixed but some of us would prefer a stable simulator.

Server issues are to be expected from time to time in any online service. It happened with ActiveSky as well.

MSFS at this point is the most stable sim I have ever used. My last crash using the platform was recorded in January.

World updates are great. But what about 3rd party airports bought via the store where the AFCAD cannot be changed as it’s locked. Not very user-friendly. And I believe the 787 - part of the premium package- is still locked. Why?

Sounds like an ancient technique to me. I use a solution that learns parking positions based on online data from FR24, so I don't need to fiddle with AFCAD files at all. In any case, Asobo is pretty open to feedback, and they have already announced that some premium content will be opened up to allow better modding support.

P3D also does not. This is offered by AS. REX Weather Force for MSFS plans to support this feature if I am not mistaken.

I’m posting this with my moderator hat on. This is the P3D forum. It is not acceptable for user of other sims to come here and denigrate this sim when they don’t even use it any more.

I wouldn’t dream of praising the virtues of P3D in the X-Plane forum. Stick to your own forum if you have no interest in other sims. It shouldn’t be necessary for P3D users to defend their choice of sim in their own forum.

I own P3D as well, so keeping up with the future (or lack thereof) of the platform is relevant to me.

Besides, I don't "stick to forums". I see a list of unread topics and reply those that are of interest. Not sure balcanization is they way forward to Avsim...

I perfectly agree with you. some people chose to stick with FS9 or FSX, some others with P3D and it's their choice and nobody should denigrate them because of their choice.

Anyway, those users shouldn't, themselves, denigrate developpers about their lack of interrest about those old platforms claiming about old promises or trying to "blackmail them" claiming they deserve this or that because the money they spent in the past.

You bought a product year ago, had fun with it, it probably still works in your sim so you can still enjoy it but you are not entitled to anything because you spent that money 3 years ago, sorry!

It costs nothing to ask a developper but don't be surprised or shocked when he answers that development for FS9, FSX or even P3D has ended. Like I wrote before, the market has shifted a lot during the last six months, more than it did in the two previous years. So it's not difficult to understand that projects that still had a sense 6 months ago, makes no sense today.

Where and how I spend my money is my business. And yes, for me certain gents and companies are banned forever!

Which sim are you talking about ?

Because this is a ~40 million dollar P3D sim.
