December 11, 20223 yr I have some fps drops with ai traffic, many people are now suffering from this. Edited December 11, 20223 yr by spitzer45 C. Uygar Aircraft Maint. Engineer. at LTFJ

Standard complaint in any flight sim, whether traffic is running off .bgl files or injected into sim. Current models are more complex than earlier sims and have huge texture files, which can saturate your PC's resources. By resizing textures down to 2048 x 2048 and mipmapping them, that keeps throughput respectable. December 11, 20223 yr Having the same issue of a huge fps drop after a few hours of flying I did some testing today. Important to note perhaps is I am in the MSFS beta. Besides lots of scenery and all WU., I had FSLTL traffic (IFR=6-, VFR=10, inj. radius 150), using a more or less complete AIG set of liveries. On top of that I had the default GA traffic active Also Henrik Nielsen's GAIS was running as well as Mamudesign marinas. I flew three times the same route (MMUN-MUSN) with the DHC-2. My experience: The first time I started out with ~90 fps. When I came back later I noticed the fps had dropped to 7-12 fps. I aborted this flight. The 2nd time I disabled FSLTL, all AIG liveries, GAIS and the marinas addon, figuring they were the most likely cause of the issue. However, the results were the same. After ~2 hours, the FPS had dropped to single digits. Unfortunately I did not notice exactly when it happened nor whether it was sudden or gradually. The third time I enabled all of the above addons again but deleted the scenery indexes and deleted and disabled the rolling cache. This time the FPS more or less stayed the same. Off course they went down when I came neared to land but they stayed at 50-60 or so. I don't know exactly what to make of these results. In my situation at least it seems the rolling cache might be the cause of the issues. A lot more testing seems to be necessary to get to the bottom of this. December 12, 20223 yr Something really weird is going on, I reported a similar 15 - 20 fps drop after around 2 hours last week with my main thread being hammered. It happened just one time then all other flights were perfect. 60 fps all the way. I just hit TOD in the Fenix this time (It was the PMDG last week) and my fps have dropped from 60 fps to 45 fps and I am over the ocean and yet again it is my main thread being hit, when I departed EGPK it was around 12ms and now it is at 24ms with my 3090 at 16ms descending to LICJ. I do use FSLTL but only to supply parked aircraft at the gates and no live traffic, I just quit FSLTL and it made no difference. I can only think this is server related somehow. December 12, 20223 yr I just landed at LICJ which I have flown into many times, fps down to 35 and main thread at nearly 30ms. I noticed my RAM was up at nearly 13GB and I was connected to the East USA server at 80ms! I signed out then straight back in without quitting the Sim and back at LICJ fps are at 60 and the East USA server is showing around 40ms. I would say as frustrating as this is it definitely seems to be an external issue with servers or a memory leak Richard i7-12700K | Noctua NH-D15S Black Version | MSI Pro Z690 - A | 32 GB DDR4 3600 | Gigabyte Gaming OC 4090 | 1TB WD Blue NMVe (MSFS 2020) | 500 GB WD Black Gen 4 NVMe | 4TB WD Black Conventional | Fractal Design Torrent Case | Seasonic 1000W Gold Plus PSU | Thrustmaster Boeing Yoke | Honeycomb Throttle | Airbus Side Stick | Virpil Rudder Pedals | Sony X90K 55 Inch TV |

Doing another test now in the PMDG and so far everything is looking good which is exactly what happened last week. So far my server ping is still showing around 45ms. I thought it was possible to manually select a server but I couldn't figure out how so I am still on the East Coast USA server. I am not surprised you are using a VPN, you wouldn't want to disclose the true location of "The Executor" 🤣 Seriously, someone at MS/ASOBO is monkeying around behind the scenes, 2nd flight of the day, 1.5 hours in and fps is a solid 60 and server is still around 44ms (East Coast USA) Richard i7-12700K | Noctua NH-D15S Black Version | MSI Pro Z690 - A | 32 GB DDR4 3600 | Gigabyte Gaming OC 4090 | 1TB WD Blue NMVe (MSFS 2020) | 500 GB WD Black Gen 4 NVMe | 4TB WD Black Conventional | Fractal Design Torrent Case | Seasonic 1000W Gold Plus PSU | Thrustmaster Boeing Yoke | Honeycomb Throttle | Airbus Side Stick | Virpil Rudder Pedals | Sony X90K 55 Inch TV |

Just checked right now and I got 108ms - much higher than usual. VPN off and 42ms. So that's a dilemma - reveal the location or suffer worse connection. I probably should check with Vader... or not. But also lately I've noticed worse download speeds for MSFS updates with the VPN running, whereas a few months back it was the opposite. Then again it's been a while now since I had any of those disconnection issues. 7950X3D | RTX 4090 | 64GB DDR5
