All,

Since SU11 have major frame rate degredation on flights of over 1-2 hours from a steady 38 down to unflyable single digits.

Tried the Inibuilds A310/Fenix with same results A310 on approach to MkV Gatwick addon last night. Fenix over the ocean today same results.

SU10 was smooth all the way with gradual F/R loss on approach to the aforementioned Gatwick but still very flyable.

Something is amiss with SU11 other than the servers I think at least in my case.

Can anyone suggest any work arounds please?

Do you have AI Traffic on? If so, try turning it off and retest. This applies to any AI Traffic (AIG, FSLTL, etc.).

Try flying the same flight offline (General Options > Data > Online Functionality > OFF) and see how it is.  This is a way to help rule out servers as an issue.  Using the free app CapFrameX this was a flight from KBZN KDEN in the PMDG 738 which was having significant stuttering.   When taken offline during the long descent into KDEN not a single stutter and zero frametime variance for the smoothest flight possible at 30fps:

Providing system specs will always help forum members help diagnose an issue you might be having. Also, what planes are you flying besides A310/Fenix ?

Thank you for the replies

System specs are as follows

Windows 10, Intelcore i7-8700 3.20hz, RTX 2060.

Just flying the 320/310.

Will also try the suggested tonight, cannot believe it was OK with SU10 and not 11

Yep, went from 55 fps to 30 fps after an hour or so. Turned off AI traffic but the fps never recovered.

I’m running a test right now.  Default plane at default airport no AI.  I’ll post results.

With no AI from the start I think you will be fine. FYI, I flew from KDEN to KLAS using the Caravan.

This issue was largely gone in SU10 for me but re-introduced with SU11.

A few days ago I did some further testing and managed to complete 12 and 15hr flights with no FPS degradation. I noticed that the FPS dropped when the mouse cursor didn’t move for extended periods of time.

I installed a program called Mouse Mover, which moves the cursor every few seconds. Ridiculous I know, but at least I seem to have found a way around this very annoying bug. For now, at least…

Had the same thing happen to me just now. I had FSTL running. First time seeing this issue. I'll try another flight without any live traffic and see if that fixes it. I'll also try Mouse Mover

I have completed multiple 2 - 3 hour flights without issues but today half way into a 3 hour flight I started to see a degradation in fps, by the time I landed at LICJ in the PMDG 737 my main thread was being hammered and was sitting around 28ms and frames had dropped for a solid 60 to 40. I have never seen this before. I wonder if it is server related. The last 50 minutes was over the Ocean so there is zero reason for this to happen and I have done this flight many times since SU11 in the PMDG, Fenix & A310

Weird !

I belive I read somewhere that the latest sim update introduces a new maximum number of BGL files which I think causes issues if you are running addons containing a lot of them.  FSLTL and Henriks global shipping addon may fall into this category, amongst others. Try running without these and see what happens.

there is still something weird anyway, for exemple i'm seeing like a 3-4 fps loss just by doing this 2mn test thingy:

-Start Fs
-Load at one place (my case LFPG, PMDG 600 at gate W5) = 56-57 FPS
-back to menu and load another place, whatever
-back to menu and load the first place (again my case LFPG, PMDG 600 at gate W5) = 52-53 FPS

i'm not running any traffic and always default clear sky at 1300 UTC for this test.

Only way to get back to original 56-57 is restarting the sim.

I restarted my PC after the slideshow landing at LICJ setup the exact same flight and this time solid 60fps and smooth as silk all the way. I have no idea what happened this afternoon, did not change a single thing. I can only think something was going on behind the scenes. I fly almost every day and never had issues like this before.

Again ... Weird
