Ive just bought GSX and so far so good... have been fiddling with customizing gates etc, people walking around and lastly tried to get passengers boarding the EMB110 using the airplane stairs... cant quite get that happening as the default stairs keep getting 'driven' to the door... any ideas how to NOT use the GSX stairs but get passengers to use the inbuilt plane stairs?b

go check FSDT forum see if there is anything on there that can help you, also go to flightsim.to see if there are any profiles for gsx and your embraer 

Anybody is suffering a stuttering animation of the GSX stuff and I mean, the passengers, the trucks, the services.

In the meantime the simulator works fine. the stutters are only limited to GSX.

The program itself works fine, is stable, realtively easy to configure (especially if you use someone elses hard work by using an Airport profile provided on flightsim.to)

 

You just have to be aware that since, I believe, Sim Update 10, there was a limit of displayable objects introduced to Simconnect. So ALL add-ons that use Simconnect to draw custom objects, like the AI Traffic injectors AIG and FSTL, and GSX do have a problem. Because once that limit is reached, the sim stops drawing new objects. That leads to invisible AI, missing GSX objects (yesterday the first thing that vanished was the VSDG while the letters for the Gate stayed visible), missing terminal buildings and ground polygons.

If you use only GSX it should probably be fine, as long as you don't end up on a large Airport like Amsterdam, where the extra objects alone are enough to trigger the limit.

But if you use a Traffic Injector + GSX you have to expect running into troubles at your arrival airports, with them simply not showing up.

 

That is not the fault of the 3rd Party developers, that is on Asobo. You just have to be aware that you WILL run into problems until Asobo either fixes the way Simconnect reacts after the limit is reached, or lifts the limit altogether again. 

 

I had the problem with disappearing objects just twice, and that was just after SU10. Using GSX and FSLTL all at default settings at Aerosoft EBBR without any such problems and I am counting at least 24 AI aircraft at the gates. Don't know if they have improved anything but it seems I can throw a lot of objects at the sim before the problem strikes.

Framerates are a different matter of course 😉

Very little overall and it's not consistent.  I have essentially perfect animation of everything and GSX objects will do a brief stutter but not often and not consistently.  Hopefully there is some room for improvement.

They didn't. I just had the problem yesterday at Frankfurt. Just starting there sitting at the gate and loading in AIG at 100% was enough to reach the limit. Had I continued the flight the arrival airport would have been without objects. I instead tried to return to the menu and encountered the other indication that I had indeed stalled simconnect and some processes in the sim, which is that the exit screen to the menu will persist for all eternity and you have to quit the sim via the taskmanager.

There is an embedded stair feature in the aircraft editing menu of GSX. Good luck getting it to work though. The manual does cover it but I've not had much success with it.

Embedded stairs work fine for me. You need to set the correct start/end positions in the 3D editor.

For those having disappearing objects there is an option in the FSDT Universal Installer that may help. Select GSX then Config and untick Extra Ground clutter. Let GSX update again and it will download some files.

It definately reduces the probability. I have now also switched off the service vehicles of all AI, maybe that'll bring the average object number down low enough for it to never reach the limit, or at least make it very rare.

Like someone else said: This is currently this Sim's OOM, where you try your best to reduce settings so to as not to reach the limit. I can only hope it gets fixed in the next two Sim Updates.

Yes works perfectly if you have the Navdata option in GSX settings activated. Only drawback with this option is that Coatl.exe may quit somewhere after take-off and has to be restarted at the arrival.
