Mouse wheel scroll to tweak sliders!

Featured Replies

OK I'm probably way behind here but just realised you can mouse scroll sliders to be very precise!  Back when MSFS launched sliders like time of day used to have a control so you could increase minute by minute.  This was removed eons ago, meaning you could left mouse click the slider but for example, to set time of day EXACT like 13:31 UTC it was a pain in the backside.  Just now I've realised if you hover over the slider and mouse wheel up or down this changes the slider in precise increments.  Hahahaha game changer!

Yeah it took Asobo awhile to make this feature.

Now if they will only allow saving profiles from more than one controller at the same time. For instance, one profile that saves all assignments and sensitivities for the yoke, throttle, and pedals for the A320 with one click.

5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB  PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. Crystal Light VR.

...and then top it off by having control profiles linked to aircraft so when you select the aircraft the profile is automatically selected!!!!

I'll bet they will do this at some point sooner than later.

I can't believe I didn't know about this. Dude, thank you.

MSFS' UX design gets a 5/5 face palms from me.

Thats why I posted it I fly in the sim a LOT and I reckon others didn't know either.  To be honest I don't think its common windows practice to mouse scroll on sliders (which is why it never occurred to me), typically sliders are controlled via a left click hold or at least thats how my brain works.

Yes, indeed - I discovered this by accident while trying to tweak throttle and prop quadrant levers.  It was driving me crazy trying to keep from over-controlling until I accidentally rolled the mouse wheel and suddenly got minute, accurate response.

I didn't, selecting the time I want has been a PITA.....until now.

Cheers!

Remember back at launch we could set things to crazy numbers like 5.673565546?

It was that sort of thing that made me think it wasn't ready for me and made me sit out releases SU1 through SU7 (I think it was SU7...)

Aaaaaaah thanks a million @sidfadc

I always fly with time being set to real minutes and just with the hours being offset to real time and it droves me crazy to not being able to set 09:53 but just 09:50 or 09:55.
Very valuable information, expecially for the upcoming PMDG 777 next year for oceanic waypoint reporting.

No worries!  Looks like I stumbled across a "feature" that is a real benefit haha!
