Kuro_B787-8 | B787-8 Dreamliner Mod (?)

Hello Gang!

This is actually a fantastic addon.  A couple of positives:

1. Actually, a 787 that real world airlines fly vs a wishful thinking 787-10 model that no one is currently flying.

2. The model is based off of the Asobo 787-10; it has been shortened to become a 787-8 and has been fitted with the Heavy Division panel, which is better and much more functional than the default Asobo 787.

3. She flies good and feels realistic.  Of course, now that the model is done, I assume much work will go into tweaking the flight model to make it fly more like a 788, but she's good.

4. Compatible with FTSim's 787 sounds..........this rounds the addon up real good

5. Great collection of great looking, true to life liveries

A couple of negatives:

1. Flight Model is based on the default 787-10, so she might not be flying as a 788 at the moment.  I suspect this will be addressed in future releases.

2. In it's current version, you have to run the installation process every time you update the Heavy Division panel addon.....kind of like a pain especially if you use the FTSim soundset because you also have to tinker with the Layout.json file to get them to properly work.

Hope this helps!

Dennis

Sincerely,

Dennis D. Müllert

I agree, there's a fair number of payware aircraft that are well below the standard of this freeware 787.

Seems harsh? The HD mod is a free mod that hugely improves the functionality of the rubbish asobo 787, eventually they’ll also release a complete new 789 but the 78x mod is constantly being improved and worked on by keen enthusiasts and helped by numerous 787 pilots. It’s a great little project.

Although I appreciate it's come a long way, it doesn't settle onto an LNAV course well.  Continually banks left and right to finally capture the course.  No winds aloft integration.  It has not captured the ILS on the two flights I have done in the last few days.  I'm guessing the answer is I have to dial in the frequency and the course manually - this should be done automatically?  It just feels a little too messy.  I also find the displays hard to read.

I just flew a test flight and it was great.  I downloaded the flight plan from SimBrief, it flew the flight perfectly and captured the ILS perfectly.

I was very impressed, and it's free to those who bought the Premium edition!!

I did a test this night but I experienced an issue with the fuel consumption. Basically no fuel consumption. I departed with 101.500 kg and it remained at around 99.000 for hours.

Someone else?

The default 787 with the HD-Mod is a very nice addon. Is it as functionally complete as the QW 787? No. But QW has gone the way of the typewriter. And the 787 modded is available right now.

Lnav and vnav work just fine. Simbrief loading is smooth. It's a great plane.

I have followed this mod from the start.  Kuro did a lot of work.  Other than the LNAV just trailing off to no where occasionally it's a pretty decent and complete airplane especially with the heavy division mod.  I have been testing it on Intra-Japan flights and haven't had any more issues than the HD 787-10. It's well integrated now.

How can I open the door for the passengers, using GSX?

Before last update they open automatically. Now I'm not able and I don't know if there is a manual way.
