January 31, 20233 yr Flying the DA20 in real life I can state that Asobo simulated the DA20 very well, including very realistic flying characteristics. The other 2 seat GA beauty is the JP logidstics C152 which I did fly in real life long time ago from Tampa Bay Executive airport, which in fact was my very first flying lesson. I compared both planes in indentical conditions at my current home base EHSE, which is in the southwest corner of the Netherlands. Being close to the North Sea there are often windy conditions. What I did observe is that the C152 is vaning into the wind very agressively and making taxying very difficult to nearly impossible, whereas the DA20 behaves realistic in similar conditions. Did other simpilots observe similar wind vaning behaviour with the C152 and if yes is there a way to reduce this overly vaning characteristic?
January 31, 20233 yr How do i get the autopilot on in the new update in for jp logidstics 152. i love flying it but dont know how to get autopilot on ib the new upgrade 2

Haven't flown the C152 in real life but from what I've read she can be dificult to taxi in a crosswind. Don't know if it is really as bad as in the sim but it might be realistic. January 31, 20233 yr Author I currently encouter the issue that when I touch the tablet with the mouse cursor the screen shuts off instantly. No way I can activate it unless I reload the plane. Next as soon as I want to select items on the tablet it shuts off again!!?? I reinstalled the JP C152 but still have the same issue, the tablet appears but disappears again when using the mouse. Does somebody have an idea how I can solve this??

Check on the developer discord, it appears some other mods could be conflicting with this preventing the tablet from working correctly

A 15kt cross wind might be at the limits (or over the limits) of a C152 for safe and certificated flight but not for taxi. In a 15kt wind you absolutely cannot taxi this plane. It’s as if it is on ice. That is not realistic. Not sure if this is on Asobo or the mod tho as it is well known that ground friction is off in the sim. January 31, 20233 yr Author I agree with RaptyrOne, In a turn during taxi if the wind comes in at 90 degrees left or right the plane turns in the opposite way than I push on the rudder, even differential braking doesn't help.I also noticed that with winds of 15 kts from cross the plane has a tendency to tip over. Therefore I assume that it is oversensitivity to mostly the wind vaning effect acting on the plane
January 31, 20233 yr Yes, I also noticed very strange taxi behaviour when I took that little bird for a test flight. Flying was nice but to my embarrassement I found myself on my nose couple of times as I tried to taxi. I don't know, maybe it is just so realistic and it was my fault... Tapani Österberg

That bit is correct and normal - aileron into the wind to correct the tendency to tip when taxi-ing. 15 knots is a moderate approaching strong wind.in real life.

As long as you back up your original file, you could try going the JPL C152's root folder and opening the flight_model.cfg file. Then, scroll down to the [FLIGHT_TUNING] section and look for the entry:- rudder_effectiveness = 1.0 .....try increasing this value and then testing the aircraft in cross wind conditions. In general, I find this to be more of a sim issue rather than a specific aircraft albeit, it affects small planes more. IMO, crosswind effects on takeoff and landings need tuning to better reflect reality. I am guessing that aircraft developers are getting around this by making aircraft adjustments. Having said that, I don't expect this will be given attention by Asobo for a while, so your best bet is to give this feedback to the aircraft developer and see if they can adjust it.
