Absolutely!  Very interested.  One of the biggest gaps in the sim is for classic tube liners.  The first people to bring out a decent B737-200 will make a killing.

I would also love to see, B720 / B707 series, DC-8, DC-9, and DC-10 series, and some classic British jets like the Comet, BAC 1-11 series, Trident, and VC-10.
Even the French Caravelle and Mercure would be good.  Certainly some gaps to fill and potential sales for the developers there.

I also think they could look at changing the business model a bit to get them out sooner, as I am not a deep systems guy, and there are a lot of us out there.
So, they could release 'light' versions to get the income stream going, then release 'professional' versions later for an upgrade fee, for those that want the toilets to flush!

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

Oh yeah! .You can see from my profile I have an affinity for this aircraft so this is great news. But, a long way off I suspect so I hope it doesn't turn out to be vapour-ware in the meantime. Still, this news is much better than no news !!! The B727 pocket rocket is an absolute classic and is perhaps best know for its short field, and take off performance. These two things made it stand out from the crowd which at the time was primarily filled by the DC-8 and B707. When our Air Force first obtained the B727's, it was an honour to be selected as a member of one of the first crews to introduce the aircraft into service in our organisation. I could hardly contain my excitement at the prospect and after all these years it is comforting to know that excitement may be returning.  Just ...wow!! 🙂

No. No, Mav, this is not a good idea.

Pretty sure I had the Captain Sim 727 for FS9 or FSX. Just watched a video of it on YouTube. My word, how far we have come!

These are the best news since an announcement was made for the MD-11. I'm a sucker for tri-jets and the 727 is another dream coming true. Wow!

Definitely. Haven't got a clue how to fly it, but would love to learn...

Here's a video that will give you some idea of how these airliners are being treated in Africa on cargo runs. In this video, the pilot (who by the way has a somewhat  chequered history and spent a short time incarcerated for some dodgy cargo...which is just the type of character you need flying in this part of the world), shows off his ample skills as he does a low level orbit on approach to put some space between him and arriving aircraft.  While some might see this as somewhat cow boyish flying (and it is) the shoulder launch SAM threat is real in Mogidishu , so keeping low is a safety measure while they remain exposed. Rather this than going missed approach and giving the bad guys another opportunity, they just get the bird on the ground as quickly as they can. Note the rapid deployment of spoilers immediately after touch down followed by reversers. Very busy hands and feet at this stage so if you get to fly this aircraft, I guarantee you it will keep your interest. 🙂  Enjoy the vid.

My first flight was the reverse - London Heathrow to Paris Charles de Gaulle on an Air France A300 Airbus, an old B2 or B4 version actually - another Aircraft I would like to se along with the A310 we have recently collected.

I took a trip over to Orly the next day.  I am surprised there were only 12 Mercure's built.  They seemed very busy at Orly, and I though there must be about 20 to 35 of them  but Air Inter probably did short commuter flights with them.

I mis-identified the Mercure's as B737's at first, then I saw the shape was different and looked them up.  I developed a soft spot for them after that and would love to see the Mercure in the sim.

I was really hoping PMDG would do this bird.  Oh well... Hopefully these guys do some justice to it and include some depth of systems modeling!

The Mercure came to market at a bad time.  And she  had a mixed reputation I am sorry to say, pilots loved the bird, the pax a little less  : dutch roll supposedly making them sick at the rear, noisy P&W engines.

When I flew to London, it was in 66 I reckon, London airport was just...London Airport not Heathrow. I flew to spend a month in a Croydon family as a teenager to improve my english. 😉

So do I Andrew. I'm not sure if this is Sim Works and FS Reborn's  forte  in terms of more complex systems in larger airframes like the B727 especially with systems like Kruger flaps, Fowler flaps and leading edge slats.   PMDG would have been a much better candidate especially modelling the failure modes. I recall (as non-pilot aircrew) a burst leading edge slat actuator that dumped all our 'A' system hydraulics and left us with a slat extended. We could have extended the flaps using electric backup but our on site Boeing engineering rep (we had only just purchased the aircraft) cautioned against this since it may have simply made the asymmetric situation worse if there was any other damage. So our Captain was using all the strength he had during the airborne communication and deliberations to keep the aircraft stable until we lined up with the runway for an asymmetric landing doing 160 knots across the fence with 6000 feet to stop. Brakes were fair smoking after we stopped with some reported flames and we evacuated on the runaway. But the melt plugs held and the firey's extinguished a few flames from the brakes.  'Fun' filled days!. I look forward to this but like you, I sense these guys might not capture the full character of the airframe. We'll shall see.

Cheers

Well considering the Boeing 727 is my favourite aircraft of all times and the level of passion I put to airplanes I develop.. you would be surprised to the things we will come up with.

Never underestimate the power of love and passion of a developer and if there is an airplane I love the most of all in this universe it is the the Boeing 727. There is no other aircraft in the world IMO that looks as beautiful as this bird, specially at full flaps during landing.

Time to change paradigms.. remember nobody expected Fenix to be as good as they were.. everyone was thinking FSLabs was the guys to build the Airbuses.. MSFS has changed the space somewhat with a bigger market allowing new firms to showcase their skills.

Sometimes the smaller guys have way better ideas than big firms.. we are driven by love and passion, not economics..

Best,
Raul
