I began watching these videos yesterday and am amazed at all the features of the PMDG737 today, versus what I can remember from years ago. I know of no other add on that has so much flexibility.

Great to see you're as enthused by the PMDG as you were by the Fenix.  It deserves the high praise, even without the EFB.     With the EFB, it will just get even better, for those who want an EFB in the bird. 😎

a remote cdu or the ability like flybywire to use an url and cdu to say a ipad.  I use that and its great

I really like the '600.

At, what, 35 bucks it's an absolute steal.

The Aviasoft remote CDU works well with the PMDG 737s in MSFS.

PMDG's 737 is my favorite, what I fly for long hauls.

Yeah, now I am debating getting another one maybe the 700-or 800, but I can't see how  that would be any better.

I would urge a look at the 800, by far my favorite variant. That and the 900ER are very popular across the continental US and you will never lack a RW flight option. That said, I’m a bit weary, as your opinions are fairly strong, fairly frequent and often change direction diametrically.

Take your time, really learn and enjoy the 600 and then decide. There is no hurry. I am currently testing the Tablet but they are all very capable airframes as is. Adding Navigraph Charts 8 and a performance tool of your choosing make everything quite suitable for now.

At some point, go back and fly the Six. I am still just as bewitched and bewildered by her, as you used to be before you stopped flying her. I’d be interested in your thoughts.

Really depends if you want to be able to fly the missions covered by the other variants. BBJ is great if you want super long range, or the freighter for cargo.

Not a massively different flying experience though....

My tongue-in-cheek in my response above was also reflecting this.  You'll find some disparaging comments about the PMDG in some of Bob's full on "Fenix or go home!" threads - before he even owned it.   Still, as long as we're all discovering new addons we love, and enjoying them, all is good I guess.

The disparaging remarks on PMDG were about  the promises that were made about the DC6, which have never materialized.  Kindly post a link to where I made a remark along the lines of "Fenix or go home!"...BTW, I can't remember what year it was that I flew the DC6 last.

I'll admit I haven't flown the DC6 in quite a while, though not because of any fault of the plane.  I was annoyed with the unrealistically short range of radio navaids in MSFS, but I'm hoping that's been improved with the recent avionics update?

I've recently gotten somewhat obsessed with celestial navigation again though, so I'm ready for more long overwater flights in a vintage prop liner.  I was wondering if you've tried the sextant addon for MSFS?  It's much less simplified than the one in FSX (which I still really enjoyed), makes you work the sight reductions out yourself (or use an online calculator for expediency if you prefer, but nice to have the option!). It's great and I highly recommend, if you have any interest in such things:

Anyway, sorry to hijack.  On topic: yes PMDG has done a wonderful job with the NG family in this sim; I've been enjoying the -900ER recently.  ;)
