Default HECA is a mess

Not lucky, I just try to look at the good side of things instead of being a grouch.

There is no "good side" of charging people extra for premuim features that are unusable. Perhaps your standards are lower than mine but I don't think that raising the issue is "being a grouch" 🙄

To each their own, though.

HECA is just a disaster though, there are threads on the official forum on HECA but no fix discussed as of yet.

Take a drive around their Denver.

Did I miss the section in the rules where it said no politics unless you're anti-liberal?

Do we really need to start bringing political stupidity into flight simulation now?

Same same.  In all of the so many airports APL takes me to it's now been essentially KDEN that's screwed up, part of it, w/ a serious elevation flaw that appeared sometime after a few SU's back.  For the first year I was in and out of HECA several times and it was fine, at least where I was taxiing.  All of the rest have been remarkably good out of the box and I only have a 6 or so payware ports.  In fact, I liked default better than one of them and deleted the payware version.

I was disappointed however to review Asobo's response to my recent clear report re KDEN complete w/ screenshots and within a couple of days got this, which may mean they acknowledged the issue reported but have not addressed it yet, or not:

@Jazz

I fly into different airports on every flight, sometimes two or three a day. I have had problems on a handful of flights, normally taxi way bumps.. P3D airports were garbage in comparison.

With all due respect, P3D airports are generally flat, so you do not get any elevation problems (except the possibility of "cliffs" at the edge if the flatten file is not good enough). To put it bluntly, if you are going to deliver a flight simulator that includes real world undulations of the runway and taxiways, then you need to make sure that these have been corrected so that users can land and taxi properly. That may be a daunting task, but it is required for the airports to be usable.

There are about 37,000 airports in MSFS, so fixing them all will probably take a bit of time.

I hope so, or at least by the time a US airline that uses KDEN hires me!  I'm scouring Japan right now in APL and it's be fabulous!  What an incredible history they have!  While not visiting Avsim in midflight I'm reading Wiki for the history of the cities and airports I'm visiting and listening to regional ATC and even regional music!  I never tire of this sim!

Wow, don't get it.  KDEN's had a bad problem for several months apparently, but of the 50 or so other airports I'm in and out of world wide--no issues w/ any signficant elevation defects.  Don't get it, this categorical complaint about airport elevations.

I think it is a matter of improving whatever they use that interprets what it sees and then converts it into these airports. Naturally, getting AI or whatever it is to create perfect renditions of every airport is an idiotically unreasonable expectation but making it operate under some basic rules of logic such as taxiway lights and signs should never be placed in the middle of taxiways strikes me as a not too difficult task for such capable people to achieve.
