The database for the models in the sim gets updated. Lots of AI planes and ship models means long loading time (holding time of the blue loading bar in the middle of the screen) 🙂

I'd rather sacrifice another gig of two to have these locally installed or cached. I started with FS2004, moved to FSX and then P3D, and all of them suffered the same problem. Without any add-ons load times were acceptable, but the more add-ons and the more AI-Models you added the longer the loading times got. MSFS is no different in that respect. Even on a brand spanking new M2 SSD it takes forever. Edited March 7, 20233 yr by Farlis

Did Asobo ever acknowledge that it was disabled or when it would return? TIA I'm going to give this a bump hoping someone has some insight into this. I just took a look in Options / Data / Manual Cache: View, and the buttons to create cache and create region are greyed out. Does this answer your question? I've never used manual cache, so I may as well be missing something on my end. My simming system: AMD Ryzen 5800X3D, 32GB RAM, RTX 4070 Ti Super 16GB, LG 38" 3840x1600
