Updated OpenXR Tools for windows

Featured Replies

Not to be confused with the OpenXR toolkit, this updated version of OpenXR Tools for windows contains more options for motion reprojection amongst other things. Mine was updated automatically, else get it from the microsoft app store. Latest version is 113.2304.14003 for those keeping score. I'm still playing with all the options so can't comment on any improvements.

I got mine yesterday too, but had to uninstall then re-install to get it. It didn't automagically update.

Can't see any performance improvement but the ability to select reprojection framerates is handy

guys, couple of questions :

what is your version # of the WMR Portal ?   2000.21051.1282.0 here

And have you tried eliminating "Cliffhouse'  - (the exploding triangle animation which plays when switching into VR) by renaming the EnvironmentsApp.exe file ?  which can be found online.

How did you instal it.  Mine would not update.  So I installed it but now if I go to store it says I own it but the instal button does nothing ?

Inside the Microsoft Store app, under the Library tab found on the lower left, it shows that my copy of that app was auto updated.  Originally I went to that tab to update it, but somehow MS did it automatically.  Clicking on the tab's 'Get updates' button is how I usually need to update installed store apps.  If I then go the Apps tab, it shows that I have that app installed.  In either of these tabs there isn't an 'install' button for the app (at least for me), but neither is there a uninstall option.  I'd surmise that it's to be uninstalled directly through Windows OS Settings->Apps.   One would guess that directly uninstalling that app and then installing again it from the MS Store app would get the updated version installed, but then again there have been enough epic fails of MS Store stuff behavior that one can never be sure what's the right thing to do.

Same WMR Portal as yours.

Could you give more details on how to eliminate 'cliffhouse'. Is there an advantage to doing this?

Thanks.

What I was attempting to accomplish was to get rid of the annoying 3 or 4 second 'exploding triangles' animation which is shown each and every time one switches into VR.  When using the old Oculus stuff, switching in to VR was smooth and instant.  I find the animation worthless, annoying and microsoft-y.  Yukk.

Anyway, here's the info :  https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/vr-disable-wmr-transition-animation/570935

I figured out how to rename the file that he points to.  And wow, it worked - killed the animation.  Instant switch into VR in MSFS.   And no more RAM being used up by Cliffhouse.  BUT then it creates another problem:  An equally annoying message box stating "GIVE us a Minute" repeatedly pops up on the screen, stealing focus and causes loss of mouse while in VR.  Haven't worked around that one just yet, but I am working on it.

Thanks  would not let me update  just clicking "update" on the individual app  but your tip about going to library and clicking "get updates"  updated all the apps including this.

Brill thanks a lot.

when that happens, I simply press the WINDOWS key left of the ALT key, which briefly displays some blue microsoft app but press that key again, and the VR mouse is back.
