Thank you all for your inputs.  I'm tempted to try FSHUD, I'm just curious if basic features like airport request to land are available in VFR.

Greetings, I have been using FSHUD for a month now and the beta is outstanding. I've been looking for a product that actually controls ATC traffic and it does it very well. I own ALL of the ATC programs and I've been loving FSHUD with FSTL injection. Now, I fly real world so the ATC voices don't bother me as much. I have a subscription for the amazon polly voices for P2ATC, but those even sound off as well and P2ATC won't always load them. The native ATC voices in MSFS sounds best because they are probably recorded. But for me, as long as they are controlling as they should I am good. You will never get as realistic as real ATC with the different dialects, phrases and slang. Even though we have standard terminology, ATC and pilots don't use them strictly. As far as sim'n goes, I just need good procedures.

Now for VFR, I'm not sure about FSHUD because I never fly VFR. I know the built in ATC is perfect for VFR because they will give you clearance to takeoff, land and give you flight following.

I've never used any sort of ATC ever from the get-go. It's always been a let down to me.

The current version of FSHud doesn't support VFR yet.

I keep hearing this Bob, but honestly, the first thing I was aware of with FSHud are that it's voices are anything but robotic! Perhaps you are referring to an early version? There is limited number of voices, but I think that is being addressed with the latest beta(?)

It astonishes me that there are so many negative comments about the quality of the voices in third party ATC programs. Is that the most important aspect?

For me it’s the quality of the instruction given, not the voice giving it. Are you instructed to descend at the appropriate point? Are you given suitable vectors to approach the airport and finally, are you given a heading for a 30° intercept of the localiser for a good approach and landing?

The quality of the instructions in the default sim seems to frustrate lots of you. But you don’t complain about the quality of the voices issuing those instructions.

Wouldn't you rather have quality instructions from a less polished voice than rubbish ones from a better voice? I know which I prefer irrespective of the sim in use.

Good post. Although really bad voices (like the ones from those PF3 video's) do of course ruin the immersion. 😉 At first I wasn't too happy with the FSHud beta voices (I liked the ones from the non-beta more) but as soon as I noticed how well FSHud controls the traffic and how well the real time assignement of procedures works (so real time changes depending on the weather etc.) and how that all increased the immersion a tenfold the voices weren't important anymore and I got used to them quickly. (And actually: I do think the beta voices in FSHud are way ahead of the voices in some other ATC addons LOL) So yes, I agree with what you say: good voices with bad instructions are useless and annoying while bad voices with good instructions are not. I am happy to say though that FSHud has both imho. 😉

EDIT
I think the problem is also that the voices are the first thing you notice when you are looking for ATC addons and watch some video's. The voices of ATC can be compared to the looks of a girl (or boy): a good looking girl will appeal more to you at first than an ugly one but in the end the ugly duckling might be the best choice once you get to know her. 😎 Hence all that talk about ATC voices and the initial importance they have.

Hopefully good voices and good instructions. The opposite would not be good! 🤣

actually ATC voices in MSFS default are not recorded they use azure ai voices  is just a different as polly but similar quality  but i think FSHUD use a less quality Polly voices cause the ones i hear on the amazon web service website sound better

LOL Yes, that's what I meant! 😄

Now that we're talking about it i get curious about FSHud.

Quick question: Does it work together with FSLTL traffic? Can't find any info about it.

Best regards
