Paid version of Google Map Mod.

Recommended Posts

Something to keep in mind if using the Google mod -  Google severs take many billions of hits each day so they most likely have checks to lock out ips that have multiple computers hitting similar data like their tile servers.

This makes alot of sense to me which is yet another reason why I use ARCGIS with the mod.

Older editions of MSFS had:

simpler AI plane routing

less detailed and deep interactive ATC

more primitive instrumentation in the cockpit

no detailed photorealistic buildings by Blacksharp

And they did not require constant updates. Instead just a purchase of an all new MSFS in 98, 2000, 2002, 2004, FSX/ 2006.

No need to uncheck the option.  I use the steam version without a problem, You just need to select 'Steam' under the 'Game Store' option instead of 'MS Store'.

Thank you. Will give that a try.

Sorry to awake up this, just made a flight to Malta, and i had that horrible loading tiles on landing using the default terrain...this mod solved that using google or even arcgis servers, both free edition.

But then i loaded a flight in my country(Portugal) and i had a horrible mixed terrain colors with the mod, so i guess is in fact a mixed bag.

I use the mod since months with Bing latest - High LOD (not Google), and it fixes the tile swapping issue almost everywhere. This is the best option for me after some experimentation.

Google tiles have watermarks and they look washed out in certain regions (for example around LOWI).

Been using the Google maps for about 5 months, flying all over the world, and have not seen one watermark yet..

Impossible to see from FL350. But come down to 3500AGL in the Kodiak, go into spot view and you'll see some (not all) tiles show a google watermark along one side. I changed to Bing Latest and have not noticed any watermarks.
