June 5, 20233 yr Hi, Only recently I migrated to MSFS and I'm still figuring out a lot of things. One of them is installing liveries...Yes I know.... Unzip, copy paste to community folder and presto... But that is not what I mean. I have bought/installed the BS Analog King Air mod and want to use a custom livery designed for the default King Air in the BS King Air mod. (The custom livery is the 'Asobo KingAir350 Osprey' livery) In FSX/P3D that was simply a matter of copy/paste a Texture folder (and maybe a model file etc) and then create an entry in the Aircraft.cfg. Not so much for MSFS anymore 🙂 I see manifest.json files, layout.json etc.In short: I can't get the custom livery shown under the BS King Air Analogue liveries tab.Is there somewhere a guide/video about 'How To'? June 5, 20233 yr It's kinda a pain in the rear. I know this because I converted a bunch of default KA paints to analog. When I'm at my pc I'll see if I have time to get back to you. Lately my simming time has been almost non existent. | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |

June 6, 20233 yr Author Hi Bert, MSFSLayoutGenerator works like a charm, thanks for the hint. I copy/pasted the texture folder of the 'Osprey' to the BKSQ aircraft folder and created an entry in aircraft.cfg based on an existing livery. Next I ran the layout generator I don't see the BKSQ classic VC but only some kind of a pink cockpit without any instruments. Have to furtrer investigate if it is possible at all. I followed the instructions but no luck so far. I probably made a typo or something along the way. Nevertheless I have a clue now. But I must say, it is a pretty tedious/precise method to create a livery entry yourself. If you're getting pink textures...I've found a typical cause is in the texture.cfg file in the texture folder itself. Compare the one you have in yours with a livery that works (no pink textures)....there may be a chance the fallback folders are different. It would be easiest just to use the texture.cfg in a working livery in your texture folder (backup your original) and see if that fixes it. There can be a few reasons the fallback folders would be different (older version of the plane where they changed the fallback paths for example). June 9, 20233 yr Author Everyone, thanks for your help/advice. Only 5 minutes ago, I succeeded... pfffff... after numerous attempts. What a pain in the a.. The video helped, however not the part about panel="noreg" Somehow that prevented the livery to show up in MSFS. Anyway, I can start enjoying the new livery. See you when I ask my next question 😁 Egbert Location: Vleuten, The Netherlands, 17.3dme SPL 108.40 | Simulator: FS2024 System: AMD 7800X3D - Gigabyte X670 - RTX 4090 - 64GB DDR5 - 2 x 2TB SSD - 32" 1440p Display - Windows 11 Pro

What a pain in the a.. oh hmm, what a coincidence, i was asked last week by a user on fs.to if it was possible to do a little tool to simplify the conversion of JF analog texture. I had a little go at it and made a little something. Can't really share it here publicly yet because it's probably a bit buggy and here it's a bit too crowded to share something that might not work for all cases but, if you are interested (and not afraid to test something that might or might not work 🙊), i will gladly send you (or anyone else that might be interested) the little program i prepared for the other user. Take care 🍻 Edited June 10, 20233 yr by Bad_T
