September 3, 20232 yr It’s very peaceful and quiet here in rural New Zealand near the northern shores of the South Island. Altocumulus clouds and a few birds greet us and remind us that we have a task ahead. We need to fly our trusted PAC 750 to Nelson for maintenance. Lots of cows around here. Don’t step into anything suspicious or you won’t be allowed to get on the plane And here is our little beauty Time to leave. The runway is darn short and I’m not a huge fan of those tall trees at the end of it. I don’t think we’ll be able to clear them, so we need to find a way to fly through that space between them. What did a friend of mine once said, when we talked about this strip called Bridge Valley (NZBV): This airstrip offers an exhilarating challenge that will push the boundaries of your flying skills. The runway's dramatic gradient demands unwavering precision during takeoffs and landings, while the imposing trees framing both extremities of the airstrip necessitate calculated maneuvers and a steady nerve. Oh well… 63 knots and we are airborne. It’s going to be tight !!! I think I heard some birds screaming, but we made it. And yes, we had light contact with the trees on both wings Nelson is ahead of us The airport, peace of cake after Bridge Valley I think I need some maintenance too, liquid maintenance Thanks for viewing Any attempt to stretch fuel is guaranteed to increase headwinds My specs: AMD Radeon RX6700XT, AMD Ryzen 9 5900X, 32GB RAM, 34" monitor, screen resolution: 2560x1080
September 3, 20232 yr Not just some screenshots, but a whole adventure. And a plane we don't see every day. Great stuff, Bernd! Edited September 3, 20232 yr by John F
September 4, 20232 yr Great shots showing the PAC in its element. Isn't Nelson a fantastic MSFS scenery?
September 4, 20232 yr Cool post, Bernd. I love these trees at the end of a runway just as much as you do, but shall we really call this a "runway"? And thanks for showing me the inside of the hangar, I have not tried to drive into there yet! September 4, 20232 yr Further... are you able to share where you found Bridge Valley (NZBV)? I've not come across it, and it's perfect for the job. We had this stuff in FS9: remote landing spots with fertiliser bins (and dispensing truck) and AI Fletchers doing the rounds. I had hoped that Orbyx would produce a fertiliser drop effect, too, but no such luck to date. Edited September 4, 20232 yr by WingZ

I see a lot of other little airstrips of interest there too, which I had overlooked in the new format of that site.

September 8, 20232 yr Author Many thanks for commenting Jan and Ryan !! And Wing Z, your video is superb!! Thanks for uploading it here.
