September 13, 20232 yr Hey! I currently have a RTX 3070ti with a 12th gen i5. MSFS works well enough. I do see a massive drop in performance in the typical areas, egll, kjfk etc. I do unfortunately push the sliders to the right most of the times. I wanted to ask if moving from a 3070ti to a 4070 just for frame generation would make a huge difference? Any thoughts? Clinton Royston Fernandes. Vabb-Mumbai India.

September 14, 20232 yr FG doubles FPS, more or less. But half those frames are pseudo frames (guesses, artificially made with AI). So the improvement is less than 100% better. More like maybe 50% better. But that's still a lot! It's been just a few days since moving from 3070 to 4070: big improvement. DLSS 3 instead of DLSS 2. And FG. I have panning outside view mapped to a hat. In other words the same command as panning outside view with right button on mouse. Only you don't have to drag the mouse, just hold the hat button down. Anyway, going to outside view and spinning the plane around in the view fast at Aerosoft Brussels EBBR is smooth as can be. It wasn't with the 3070. 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. Crystal Light VR.
September 14, 20232 yr BTW, all fps display apps I tried work properly with Frame Generation. Except the DEVMODE display of MSFS. That displays lies and does not tell the truth whenever FG is on. It does work and agree with all the other fps apps, but only if FG is off. So if anyone is disappointed with fps not improving when using FG, just try another fps display app, like RTSS, Steam overlay, Microsoft gaming display. They will show the truth when FG is on. 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. September 30, 20232 yr I have a new computer with an Intel I 7 13900 CPU, and a Nvidia RTX 4080 GPU and 32 GB RAM. I use three 55’’ 4K tv as displays with the resolution set to 3840x2156 on all three tv. Before I tried to use FG I had 20-25 fps in Fs 2020 with AA TAA. With FG and DLSS the fps increased to 33-35 fps, but the cockpit displays are not as clear as before. If I change back to TAA, the fps drops to 15-20 fps. I have few ulta settings, but most high. Can anyone explain why I experience this?

I think FG only works on one screen , well it does for me anyway, when i click off my main sim monitor onto my secondary monitor, which i use charts etc , the frame rate drops back to non FG and when i click back onto the main sim monitor you can clearly see FG kicking back in ! which is annoying ( a bit) for me but for you a nightmare i would imagine ROG Crossair Hero X670e , 9900X, TUF 4090 , X4 NVME's. OS 2TB 980 Pro , MSFS 2TB WD Black , Kington Fury 64GB ram ( 6000) Corsair RM1000 PSU, Artic Freezer iii 360 AIO . Phanteks P600s Case ,TCL QM8B 50" 120 Hz TV,second 24 inch screen for charts you tube etc, and 11" touch screen for the EFB. Warthog Stick and TCA Captains throttle ( full pack) Velocity 1 Rudder Pedals , extreme3D for the Tiller,Streamdeck XL x2 / Streamdeck +/Streamdeck mini because i like pressing buttons
October 10, 20232 yr I just installed a 4090 today (was on a 3070ti) and have been messing around. Did a Fenix flight out of KJFK IniB and it didn't move from 80 fps. I am gobsmacked so far and it's only a few hours old. FG will double your fps from what you have today and give you a performance boost as long you get minimum 30+ real fps, but if you are limited of main tread today you have to upgrade your CPU, and if you plan to upgrade your monitor to 4k or even 1440 UW, 12GB Vram won't be enough. This doesn't seem to be happening - perhaps put off to next year and re branded as 4080 super. These new Super branded GPUs are said to be released at current price points which would be very attractive if they include 20GB VRAM variants - seems unlikely but maybe. Anyhow with recent price moves upwards of Nvidia GPUs in Australia with a collapsing exchange rate and probably other factors (plus 250 AUD in the past month at some retailers) I decided to move now and get a 4090 while I still could at an acceptable price.
