October 24, 20232 yr Those who want the Beta Indicator on the panel might check JayDee’s modification TBM 850 – Unrestricted Beta in Flight & Beta Indicator on Annunciator Panel over at FS.to. Lots of thanks to JayDee for saving other pilots a lot of time – another of his great contributions to our hobby. --Mike MacKuen
October 24, 20232 yr That is generous. Unfortunately it won't work with the preferred interior mod. But I think it's just a few config lines. I had previously directly modified the *.flt files to get the Beta display, so don't know if that is a factor. The author of the interior mod mentioned that the color of the RMI needles were originally reversed and his mod fixed that. But I found the single RMI needle to be yellow, and the double RMI needle to be green, with or without the interior mod. What RMI needle colors do you see with the interior mod? Thanks, Al Edited October 24, 20232 yr by ark

October 25, 20232 yr In the comparison images posted above, the KI-229 RMI's single needle is yellow and the double needle is green. I looked at some real KI-229 RMIs on line, and the single needle is green and the double needle yellow (plus there are some other variations). Maybe that's what the interior mode fixes, but I couldn't get it to work, maybe because I had modified the *.flt files for the Beta display. But I don't understand why the flt file Beta mod would impact the RMI needle color mod. Al Edited October 25, 20232 yr by ark

The interior mod did not fix that color error. The easiest way to see if you have the interior mod installed correctly is to look at the copilot's radio altimeter in image #3. You can't miss the difference there. All the other changes are far more subtle, at least to me. Edited October 25, 20232 yr by air-ick AMD 7800X3D, RTX 4090, 42" LG C3 OLED 4K TV/Monitor

October 31, 20232 yr Greetings all, I’ve just purchased this plane and am most impressed with most aspects of it. However, I’m a little confused/disappointed with the climb performance. I’m barely able to climb to FL200. By the time i arrive at this altitude I’m barely getting 200fpm on the VS indicator, am I missing something? I would have expected far better climb performance from this plane. Edited October 31, 20232 yr by mattdee

(Move the flap lever forward) Climb speed is around 135-140 kias. | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
October 31, 20232 yr 850 mode? It must be quite obvious that I haven’t read the POH as yet, so is there a forward position on the flaps lever?

You engage the 850 HP/120% torque mode by moving the flap lever forward after flaps are retracted. The 850 position has nothing to do with flaps and I assume they did that to physically lock out engaging it with flaps extended. Note that 850 mode is not permitted during takeoff and landing.
