October 20, 20232 yr Really enjoying this Bird. When disconnecting the AP, the active Roll and Pitch Modes are also disabled. I would expect them to remain active for FD Guidance. The FD does stay active (but does nothing, because no roll and pitch modes are active).

No warning for over Torque. I was in drone mode taking some screenshots and when I went back to the cockpit, I was way over the redline with no warnings. Something is amiss there. Also, prop feathering before shutting down the engine no longer works for me. I used to hear a drastic change in pitch and see the props slow down but now it just stays normal with no changes.
October 20, 20232 yr @lancealotg - I experienced this too, but I think it no longer feathers when you're in Beta range? If you increase the throttle to idle, then it will feather correctly. One issue I have (also had it before this update, and might not be aircraft specific) is with the weather radar. If I enable the NexRad radar on the GNS530, then I lose my weather radar bitmap (it appears to "smudge" on the radar display). The GNS weather displays fine. As soon as I turn off the NexRad on the GNS, my weather radar displays correctly again. Is this a known issue?

With the FD on, if the autopilot is on the FD should be "telling" the autopilot servos what to do, and with the autopilot off, the FD should be "telling" you (the pilot) what to do. When on, the FD is the "boss". Al EDIT: I should add, with the autopilot off if the FD does not seem to be providing good info for some reason as mentioned above, turn it off since it can be very distracting, especially if in IMC. If you increase the throttle to idle, then it will feather correctly. My understanding is when the prop is feathered, the blades are at a max pitch typically approaching 90 degrees (to prevent windmilling and to reduce drag), and when in the beta range, the prop blades are at a very fine, flat, almost zero degree pitch (then reverse is when the prop blades are at a negative pitch). So I would not expect to be able to feather the props when the throttle is in the beta range. Al Edited October 21, 20232 yr by ark
October 21, 20232 yr I've done a couple more flights. In zero wind she's very easy to land. In a crosswind I have to really do strange things to line up. I don't know if it's just rudder trim or not. I'm not enthusiastic about the flight dynamics. It is heavier in some respects and twitchy in others. It feels like the need for trim is exaggerated. The Caravan seems to be the one Black Square plane that doesn't feel weird. The Bonanza might be the second in that dept. Issues I have noticed: Sound still fades out. Did it twice in one short flight. You can exceed the yellow torque without 850 mode on and no warning appear. Having only watched Steveo vids, it appears that with 850 mode off, the yellow arc is essentially the highest you can travel. IOW, the engine won't let you exceed that limit, even if you move the throttle higher...? I think the ability to accurately model a turboprop is still greatly hindered in MSFS. The ground handling, to me, is much better. The taxi light has less throw now, thus making it very difficult to see anything at dark airports. I know taxi lights, and landing lights, are often not as bright as we think they are, but I could see before. Now I need landing lights to taxi safely at night. I am happy with the landing lights. They light up the runway just fine for me. I also have an IPS monitor, and I think the OLED crowd suffers more in the dark. The AP disconnect leaves the lateral and vertical modes engaged. That seems incorrect to me. Usually just the FD, and APPR mode, if armed, would stay active. - Chris Gigabyte Z790 Aorus Elite AX | Intel Core i9 13900KF | Gigabyte GeForce RTX 4090 24 GB | 64GB DDR5 SDRAM | Corsair H100i Elite 240mm Liquid Cooling | 1TB & 2TB Samsung Gen 4 SSD | 1000 Watt Gold PSU | Windows 11 Pro | Thrustmaster Boeing Yoke | Thrustmaster TCA Captain X Airbus | Asus ROG 38" 4k IPS Monitor (PG38UQ) Asus Maximus VII Hero motherboard | Intel i7 4790k CPU | MSI GTX 970 4 GB video card | Corsair DDR3 2133 32GB SDRAM | Corsair H50 water cooler | Samsung 850 EVO 250GB SSD (2) | EVGA 1000 watt PSU - Retired

I enabled the beta indicator on the alarm panel so its easy to see when you are in beta.
