October 5, 20232 yr Every day, when I go into Orbx Central, my Sim Object Display Engine shows that there is an UPDATE. I update it every day and the update message goes away. However, when I go back into ORBX CENTRAL, it shows update message again. It NEVER gets updated, and I really don't know why the update is not "taking". Do you have the same problem recently as well? I've never seen this before. I have synced my simulator (P3dV5.4) in Central and I have run the Verify Files on the SODE, but the update never really gets installed. I would appreciate your help. Stan
October 5, 20232 yr I asked that question in the Orbx forum and was told that if you update to the latest version of SODE, 1.8.0, Orbx central doesn't recognize it, so it prompts you to update SODE every time you open Central. At least this is what I was told. Pete Locascio Intel Core Ultra 9 285K, Nvidia RTX 5090, Samsung 9100 Pro 2&4 TB Drives, 64 GB RAM, Asus Z-890 motherboard.

October 5, 20232 yr I deleted SODE from Roaming folder where ORBX puts it and manually downloaded [ installed ] latest version from 12b's website. I am still not sure is it working or not, but recently I noticed that at KSEA I did not had jetways.

October 6, 20232 yr "The solution" would be if OrbX Central recognized version 1.8.0. 13600KF - AIO - 32GB DDR4 - RTX4070 - UW1440p GSync - USB DAC - 2TB NVMe - Windows 11 Pro - Gladiator NXT EVO - 1 Gbps Fiber - MSFS 2024
October 6, 20232 yr Commercial Member The solution is not to manage it via ORBX, no? Luke Kolin I make simFDR, the most advanced flight data recorder for FSX, Prepar3D and X-Plane.

It's a big leap from a small problem with Orbx Central to "They don't care at all i fear". Orbx Central does not install SODE without first asking you where you want to install it and at that point, you can simply choose not to install it. You can either install SODE with Orbx Central and then ignore the update message, or you can uninstall it with Orbx Central and install it directly from SODE and ignore the Orbx Central update message. Either way, you will have version 1.8.0 and SODE will work.
October 6, 20232 yr Even if you uninstall it in ORBX central it still pops up. This is so annoying. I was banned in ORBX forum, otherwise I would create subject there. Edited October 6, 20232 yr by PavlinS
