why are there so many wrong runway signs, at default and on 3rd party airports? for example at KFHR: both runway take off ends have wrong labels showing both directions: 16-34 and 34-16 when it should have only either or. the only time a runway sign can show both directions is when you are at a runway intersection, where you could take off in either direction. I am surprised this is hasn't been fixed and is not being discussed here?

could have been done programmatically, piece of cake. if X-plane can do it ... it is part of their airport layout database.

I have the black square taxiway signage installed, I honestly don’t recall if that fixes the issue or not !

guess you didn't read the thread title: "wrong runway signs"

I was talking about runway signs, much easier than taxiway signs, and could be done automatically programmatically, just like x-plane has it. but even 3rd party airports with hand-placed runway signs are often wrong. they have obviously no clue how runway signs get a"ssign"ed.

This sign is located at the holding position on taxiways that intersect a runway or on runways that intersect other runways. The inscription on the sign contains the designation of the intersecting runway, as shown in FIG 2-3-24. The runway numbers on the sign are arranged to correspond to the respective runway threshold. For example, “15-33” indicates that the threshold for Runway 15 is to the left and the threshold for Runway 33 is to the right.

Oh that is what X plane was doing, instead of working on their scenery that looks like wallpaper..😁

their product description only mentions taxi ways, no word about runway signs,

"1,165 airports updated with 41,500+ taxiway signs"

"1,000+ airports updated with 100,000+ taxiway signs!"

another error in MSFS: referring to the dual runway sign intersection "15-33" above means: to your left is runway 15, to your right you'd be entering runway 33. so far so good. but again wrong in MSFS, example KFHR intersection rwys 16-34: if you turn left at this intersection you'd be taking off rwy 34 to the north, and if you turn right you'd be taking off rwy 16 to the south. MSFS has mixed those up pointing to the opposite direction.

apart from other things. and no need to start another xplane-MSFS debate. I mentioned it just to explain how it can be done programmatically, no 40.000 airports need to be edited manually. x-plane got the runway signs right, no need to purchase another 3rd party addon for $ 40,- which has its own issues at some airports:

That's an expensive piece of software!  I know it adds some weird characters in places on signs, but it was too expensive for what it promises.

I can't say I really look at signs as much as I rely on ForeFlight or an on board map to give me guidance to a runway.  😏
