what do you think about it?

You really want to know?

OK. I think, and this is my view of this screenshot, that someone has made a screenshot on reddit and wrote down HIS/HER opinion. And opinions are allowed. There is nothing written that this counts for everyone, everyones pc or this is an absolute proof of concept for each.

But it seems to me, that you THINK it is. Or you do read it "into" it (projection!). And THAT is your view, and even that is ok.

In my opinion you probably have a somehow narrowed view.......could this be your issue maybe? 😉

HOLY GRAIL". So I think the title is somewhat badly chosen, but.

what means "Holy Grail" to you? Maybe it is just "HIS" holy grail. So I think he has chosen a title fitting to his mind. 😉

If this solution this guy found for him, wich he just wanted to share (for FREE) to let others participate (for free) is his holy grail.......I think he is a nice open minded guy and he is trying to help others. NOTHING is wrong with that.
As is your opinion ok for me, that your opinion is that the title is badly chosen.

But what is happening here on AVSIM for some months, is that some people are claiming they know everything better, their opinion or findings are the only right ones, others a just clickbait, badly chosen titles, etc, not truth.....etc. I wish this arguing about people who just try to HELP others would stop.

So if I say that the earth is flat I don't owe any proof, it is my opinion and has the same value as the opinion of those who say it's approximately a sphere.

And whoever says I'm wrong or asks for evidence is narrow minded.

LOL, OK 🙂

If the matter were presented in another way, like "Hey guys, I tried this and it seems to me that it has some benefit. Let me know if it works for you", it would be different, but come on... HOLY GRAIL and +30% fps! 🙂

Anyway my point of view is clear, I don't want to cause a flame so I won't reply anymore.

But you didn't downscale it/reupscale it again with DLSS which is the whole point of the video... Of course if you use DSR alone, the quality will be objectively better.

You always downscale in any way if the game is rendered above the native screen resolution, no matter if you use DLSS, DLDSR or simply the resolution scale slider in the game itself. And yes, I forgot to mention that I use DLDSR plus DLSS Quality, otherwise FPS loss would be there, similar to resolution scale or any other kind of upscaling. Using DLSS basically neglects the performance loss of DSR, yet the image seems slightly better to me. Might be placebo 🤣

DLDSR 2.25 upscales by 225% and DLSS Quality downscales to 66% of that (I haven’t checked that last number but thats what someone mentioned, I didn’t think it was that much). So you’re using DLSS to claw claw some of the performance loss from the DLDSR upscale.

So I just tried this to see if it works for VR. I literally did not notice that anything happened at all. Displays are blurry as heck still on DLSS and FPS unchanged too.

Which is exactly what I wrote, yes

No? So how is my sentence "DLSS basically neglects the performance loss of DSR" different from your "using DLSS to claw claw some of the performance loss from the DLDSR upscale"? Could you explain the difference please?

Just to put this out there, forget where I read it, or heard it, but I dont think it necessarily works well just by turning it on.   The whole point of AI deep learning, is the learning part. Perhaps this is a scenario where it must learn and recalibrate the more times its used.  Turning it on and saying it doesnt work well doesnt teach it anything. Just a thought.

It improved things for me - not by a massive amount, but well worth implementing. Thanks very much. 👍

The deep learning / training phases are done by nVidia supercomputers, not on your home PC.

DSR works with DX11 as well, but I’m not 100% sure about DLDSR, which is the AI version. DLDSR is 200% more efficient than DSR per nVidia. And that’s a great idea, it’s worth trying for sure.

I have now tested DSR, but I got CTD when I tried to set higher resolution in game, so I keep using higher rendering scale in game instead.

Did you test DSR or DLDSR?
