Or do we "just" have a AI-driven speech recognition and the complete underlying ATC-engine is coded? One of the FSLTL developers is on the BATC team so expect something quite similar.
February 26, 20242 yr What would be a realistic avarage amount of ATC contacts during a medium (3-4 hours) flight? Lets say 150 from taxi to gate, maybe 300 or even 500. That means you can make 7500 flights for a 1 time purchase of $ 59.99? Is that assumption somewhere near correct or am I missing something?? It's not about the amount of contacts, it's about the amount of online AI-voice you use. Give the calculator a try and see what you come up with. That calculator itself is based on assumptions and guesses: what the real amount of transition time is going to be used we will know once the addon has been released. It mainly depends on the quality of voices you want: offline is free, premium costs a lot.

If you want the premium voices it is rather 7, not 7500 flights for the one-time-purchase 🤣. After that calculate with $ 4 per flight for the premium voices. For the other options, use the calculator. Edited February 26, 20242 yr by RALF9636

February 26, 20242 yr If you don’t want to pay for the better voices there is a free option. The product will succeed or fail based on how well it does everything else. We’ll see. 7950X3D | RTX 4090 | 96GB DDR5 | 4K G-Sync | Win11 Pro
February 26, 20242 yr I would certainly pay for AI-ATC like sayintentions, but not for voice only, based on a coded ATC-logic (which has to be the same restrictions as all other tools had). At least thats the direction I tend to at the moment.
February 26, 20242 yr I think this is a great moment that finally a valuable ATC'-AI integrated solution has been made. I can remember discussions, like 10 years old, that hinted at somethinng like this (FSTraffic + Pilot2ATC) and yet that moment has never come no matter the advancements in all other areas of flight simming and computing in general. After years of listening how ATC'-AI combo is too complicated and that there is no incentive proportional to the difficulty of the programming endevour, Its finally here. So, enjoy this moment, and do not let the discussion of premium or free voices blur the magnitude of this achievement. I just hope it, if it is really what it promises to be, gets integrated into fs2024 as default and we finally put to rest (still open for improivement but not a sore sim deficency) this part of simming like we more or less did with scenery and weather. And even if it did get integrated we'd still have to pay for it (monthly or via packs) because the tech simply costs a lot of money all the time it's being used. Other than that: I agree about the 'great moment' stuff. The work on it hasn't finished yet though so let's wait and see how it all works out.

The current MSFS ATC voices (Azure) are AI generated voices and we don't pay extra for those. Edited February 26, 20242 yr by Tuskin38
February 26, 20242 yr I see that some people still don't understand how this add-on works. AI and all ATC will be a one-time fee, and if you want to hear better sound in your headphones, then you pay extra for it. As far as I understand, if you want better sounds/voices and/or use PTT (Push-To-Talk) - then it costs something. If you just stick with offline-voices and button control, then yes, it's free to use (after you've purchased the addon). Especially the AI-Part.
