PMDG 777 Christmas update

I see another round of whinging and moaning about PMDG marketing decisions on the horizon. I can hardly wait :dry:

Yea, I would assume that the 200LR/F will release as the first package and the 300/ER following later. I do wonder if they will include the 200ER in the initial package. This is fine for me as I primarily do freight ops and I am not so interested in the 300, unless they do a 300ERSF. And I know I have said this before, but I hope they up their product and do not just give a P3D equivalent -- I really want to see this have a new LNAV, more comprehensive maintenance, a full electrical system, to be able to open the windows, etc. -- basic or standard features in a high-fidelity aircraft in 2024 on MSFS. If not, this will not be a day one purchase for me. I know I will likely get it, but to be honest if the iniBuilds A300 is well done, I might not because that aircraft and meet me operational needs.

If they are to maximize their earnings (and they are still a business), they will release the 77L and 77F first. I can content myself flying some Air Canada ops and likely even some cargo, but for the sake of customer satisfaction, I hope the -200ER and -300ER variants won't trail too far behind.

For me, it would be ideal if the 200LR releases first, as the only 777 I am interested in is the freighter. (FedEx). It was the same with the 737. I fly the -700 exclusively. (Southwest), and luckily, it was the first one out of the gate.

My own preferences don’t speak for everyone of course, and I can certainly understand that there are many who will want the -300 or ER. I assume that like the 737, each model in the 777 series will be a stand-alone product, and not part of an “ expansion” package.

Maybe I'm dreaming, but didn't they release the 737 first, followed by the 736, 738, and 739 in that order? Also, what's sneaky about maximizing their revenue stream? No one is being coerced in any way to buy one or another variant of any aircraft, and I would bet that most of the revenue derived from 737 family sales paid for its development and that of the 777 line as well.

My only purchase was the 737; I learned enough from that model to sate my curiosity about that generation of aircraft, and I'm sure that whatever model of 777 is released first, that will be fine with me. Others will want one or another of the other models for particular types of mission profiles. Buy 'em all folks, so that we're sure to get the MAX, etc.

It will just like the 737 be an updated P3D equivalent with a new tablet. That's basically confirmed. It will have the new PMDG LNAV 2.0 (for what it's worth) and apparently a better fly-by-wire simulation, and of course the all-new MSFS visuals. Apart from that, I'd expect small improvements but nothing revolutionary like maintenance or opening windows... in all seriousness, that's probably the weirdest thing about PMDG that they've spit out dozens of study level aircraft and variants and never bothered with making its cockpit windows work.

A small part of me is really hoping that they release the LR only first. That would definitely be popcorn material 😈

Not sure, but why wouldn't it? It's easy to apply.
And with LNAV 2.0 I mean the one we already got for the 737, so nothing new in itself.
